Budapest<\/strong> \u2013 The Centre for Translational Medicine (CTM) of Semmelweis University<\/strong> has presented the \u201cFor Modern Patient Care\u201d Excellence Award<\/strong> to three outstanding partner hospitals this year: the Szent Gy\u00f6rgy University Teaching Hospital of Fej\u00e9r County (Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r)<\/strong>, the Heim P\u00e1l National Pediatric Institute<\/strong>, and the Budapest Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital and Outpatient Clinic<\/strong>.

\nEstablished in 2023<\/strong>, the award honors institutions that build a tangible bridge between research and everyday clinical care<\/strong>, delivering measurable benefits for patients.<\/p>\n

Three model partnerships<\/h2>\n

Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r \u2013 an early adopter<\/strong>

\n\"\"Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r was among the first to join CTM programs. Since the initiative launched in 2018<\/strong>, around ten physicians<\/strong> from the hospital have participated, with new graduates each year<\/strong>. At the ceremony, we expressed our gratitude to the hospital\u2019s leadership and experts, including Dr. Ferenc Izb\u00e9ki<\/strong>, for their long-standing commitment.<\/p>\n

Heim P\u00e1l \u2013 leading in pediatrics<\/strong>

\nThe Heim P\u00e1l National Pediatric Institute has been a pioneer in pediatric translational care, with over 20 residents<\/strong> joining CTM trainings and more than ten<\/strong> already graduating. Representatives at the ceremony praised the collaboration as a \u201cvery successful scientific and professional partnership,\u201d<\/strong> highlighting its concrete impact on patient outcomes.<\/p>\n

Bajcsy-Zsilinszky \u2013 measurable clinical gains\"\"<\/strong>

\nIn 2025<\/strong>, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital received the award for its outstanding commitment to advancing translational, evidence-based care<\/strong>. Following measures introduced based on the research of Dr. Kata Ill\u00e9s<\/strong> and Dr. Tam\u00e1s Horv\u00e1th<\/strong>, the hospital achieved a 13% reduction in cholesteatoma recurrence<\/strong>, directly improving patients\u2019 chances of recovery. Under Dr. Tam\u00e1s Horv\u00e1th\u2019s<\/strong> guidance, the hospital has delegated seven students<\/strong> to CTM\u2019s training program, strengthening the link between research and bedside practice. The award was accepted on behalf of the hospital by Dr. R\u00f3bert R\u00e9vai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
