Project Description:
Anna’s interest is in pediatrics and she works at Heim Pál Children’s Hospital. She is currently working on a systematic review and meta-analysis, and a two-arm randomized controlled trial protocol. In her meta-analysis, she investigates the effect of preoperative carbohydrate loading on postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing elective major non-cardiac surgery. She would like to test whether preoperative carbohydrate loading reduces the postoperative stress response, postoperative insulin resistance, and preoperative fasting time, leading to a shorter length of hospital stay. As her second project, she plans a protocol to compare multimodal individualised, contextualised management of intraoperative cardiovascular dynamics to conventional management in patients undergoing major pancreatic surgery.
