We are looking for committed and motivated students in their 2nd to 4th year who are interested in cardiology, cardiac surgery, experimental sciences, and translational medicine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our research group\u2019s profile and areas of research include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Investigation of the development of the \u201cathlete\u2019s heart\u201d in small animal models;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Investigation of the development and treatment of heart failure in small animal models and human biobank samples, as well as the translation of preclinical findings into other clinical research projects at the Clinic (e.g., projects related to TAVI and CRT therapies);<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Monitoring of the hemodynamic effects of pseudoallergy induced by experimental drugs in large animal models;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Optimization of donor organ preservation in rat and canine heart transplantation models;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Investigation of the effects of different drugs on the aorta in mouse models of connective tissue diseases (vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Marfan syndrome);<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 All of this is carried out with the help of an extensive network of research collaborations both within and beyond the university (Freiburg, Halle, Heidelberg, King\u2019s College London).<\/p>\n<p>During your TDK work, you will have the opportunity to learn and master numerous modern<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7<strong> in vivo<\/strong> methods (e.g., small animal echocardiography, pressure-volume analysis, electrophysiology, assisting in small and large animal surgeries);<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 <strong>ex vivo<\/strong> methods (vascular physiology studies in an organ bath);<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7<strong> in vitro<\/strong> methods (e.g., PCR, Western blot, ELISA, histological staining, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, proteomic sample preparation);<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7<strong> in silico<\/strong> methods (omics data analysis, laboratory automation, analysis of digitized histological slides).<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 In addition to experimental work, participation in clinical research is also possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred applicants are those who:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Possess in-depth knowledge of the relevant basic subjects (e.g., physiology, biostatistics),<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Are willing and able to work independently and responsibly,<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Are open to acquiring and optimizing new experimental methods,<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Have at least an intermediate level of English proficiency.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, please send your CV and a short motivational letter to the following email addresses: sevszekjnstkl@gmail.com and radovitstamas@yahoo.com<\/p>\n<p>Best regards, Prof. Dr. Tam\u00e1s Radovits, University Professor, and his Research Group<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Students, The Juh\u00e1sz-Nagy S\u00e1ndor Scientific Research Laboratory of the V\u00e1rosmajor Heart and Vascular Center at Semmelweis University offers the opportunity to participate in the Student Research Society (TDK).
