\n

PARTS OF THE EXAM
\n<\/strong>Written examination<\/strong> (the tasks must be completed on the computer with no internet access provided by the university, and the examination takes 90 minutes)<\/span>
\n1. Reading Comprehension<\/span>
\nCompleting a reading comprehension task correctly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the content of a discharge paper \/ outpatient note and answer the related questions at the appropriate level without using a dictionary or any other source of help.<\/span>
\n2. Written Communication<\/span>
\nThe candidate must write a summary (Epikr\u00edzis) on the basis of several bullet points. The criteria for assessing written communication are as follows: accuracy and vocabulary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oral Examination<\/strong> (the oral examination takes about 30 minutes in front of the language examination board of a doctor and two language instructors)<\/span>
\n1. Listening Comprehension<\/span>
\nCompleting a listening comprehension task correctly, the candidate must ask for the new patient’s personal data and fill in a form. Afterwards the candidate must call the ambulance and tell them the recorded personal data and further information about the transportation.<\/span>
\n2. Oral Communication<\/span>
\nThe candidate must take a focused medical history from the patient, instruct the patient for the needed physical examinations, establish a provisional diagnosis, determine the necessary further steps, and inform the patient about the required examinations. After the taking the patient history, the candidate must present the case of the patient to a specialist.<\/span><\/p>\n

The complex examination<\/strong> (both written and oral) is successful if the candidate achieves a minimum of 40% in each part of the examination (reading comprehension, written communication, listening comprehension, and oral communication), and the average of the four parts of the examination is a minimum of 60%. A certificate is issued on the results of the successful complex examination.<\/span><\/p>\n
