The University takes multi-fold actions in the forms of international mobility programs, international cooperation, tailor-made short courses and various joint international projects to actively foster the University&#8217;s existing international relations. It is also committed to building new relationships to increase its international visibility and strengthen its leading role in Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. The university is member of several international professional and scientific organizations and has an extended network spanning across five continents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Semmelweis University has built an extensive network of international cooperation on the level of research groups, departments, faculties and the whole institution. The university is also member of a number of major international research organizations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><div class=\"responsive-tabs\">\n<h2 class=\"tabtitle\">RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/research\/files\/2025\/11\/cardio2share.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1340 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/research\/files\/2025\/11\/cardio2share-150x115.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"115\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cardio2share.semmelweis.hu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cardio2Share Database &#8211; A COST Action initiative<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nA COST Action is an interdisciplinary European research network that brings researchers, clinicians, and innovators together to collaborate.<br \/>\nThe CardioRNA COST Action (CA17129) was specifically created to accelerate cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related transcriptomics and advance the translation of experimental findings into clinical applications for personalized medicine.<br \/>\nAs a member of the CardioRNA COST Action, the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy at Semmelweis University has launched an international database to collect metadata from cardiovascular cohort studies and facilitate communication between investigators, as described at <a href=\"https:\/\/cardio2share.semmelweis.hu\/\">https:\/\/cardio2share.semmelweis.hu\/<\/a>.<br \/>\nCardio2share provides an excellent platform for researchers, clinicians, and bioinformaticians to engage in mutually beneficial collaborations. It also helps standardize different data sources for comparative research. The Cardio2share database includes data from human cohorts, animal models, and cell models.<br \/>\nWe highly encourage academic researchers in the cardiovascular field to use our platform not only to expand their access to scientific sample sources and enhance collaborative activities, but also to connect as a data or sample provider. To that end, it offers quality management services, support with ethical, legal and societal issues, and a number of online tools and software solutions. Ultimately, its goal is to make new treatments possible. The project arises from the need to find answers to the serious lack of medicines for children in EU and worldwide. It coordinates, integrates and sustains bioinformatics resources across its member states and enables users in academia and industry to access services that are vital for their research.<br \/>\nELIXIR is an intergovernmental organisation with 22 members and one Observer that brings together life science resources from across Europe. These resources include databases, software tools, training materials, cloud storage and supercomputers. The goal is to coordinate these resources so that they form a single infrastructure. This infrastructure makes it easier for scientists to find and share data, exchange expertise, and agree on best practices. Researchers of Semmelweis University participate in a number of joint research projects within EUniWell, taking the lead in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euniwell.eu\/participate\/call-for-joint-projects\/projects-of-the-second-seed-funding-call-2021\/collaboration-project-on-mental-health-in-the-euniwell-community\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mental health project.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unica-network.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-374\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/research\/files\/2020\/11\/unica-logo200x162.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"122\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unica-network.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>UNICA &#8211; Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nUNICA was founded in 1990, and it is currently made up of 53 universities from 37 capital cities of Europe. NMA\u2019s mission is to facilitate interdisciplinary research combining principles and approaches from network sciences, systems biology, and human dynamics to understand the causes of human diseases and develop new treatments.
