The <strong>Pannonia In Excellence Scholarship<\/strong> is based on merit. The main purpose of the scholarship is to <strong>support the studies of foreign nationals who have obtained student status<\/strong>, providing a great opportunity not only to receive support to get a university degree and pursue the best possible academic results, but also to reach full potential as an individual in sports or the arts.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals holding a student status at Semmelweis University and originating from a <a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/files\/2025\/01\/Pannonia-In_2024_25_palyazati-felhivas_EN_Appendix-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>specific circle of countries<\/strong><\/a> are eligible to apply, provided that they are enrolled in a program taught in either German or English, and began their studies at the Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences or the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty of Semmelweis University in or after the first semester of the academic year 2024\/2025.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship is awarded for one year but can be reapplied for after its expiry. It is paid in 12 equal monthly installments, provided the recipient maintains an active student status. Evaluation of performance is determined by academic progress as well as achievements in sports and the arts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h1><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/registrar\/files\/2026\/02\/Pannonia-In-25_26_palyazati-felhivas_EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CALL FOR APPLICATIONS<\/a><\/h1>\n<p>The Center of International Training Programs at Semmelweis University is announcing a call for applications for the <strong>\u201cSemmelweis Pannonia In Excellence Scholarship\u201d<\/strong> for the<strong> academic year 2025\/2026<\/strong>. Foreign nationals holding a student status at Semmelweis University and originating from the countries listed in the appendix to the Call for Applications are eligible to apply, provided that they: i) are enrolled in a program taught in either German or English, ii) began their studies in or after the first semester of the academic year 2024\/2025, iii) are not recipients of the Stipendium Hungaricum or the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for one year and is paid in 12 equal monthly installments, provided the recipient maintains an active student status. If it is suspended (their status becomes inactive) or terminated, the scholarship payments will cease. The unused portion of the annual scholarship will be awarded to the next student on the waiting list as ranked by the selection committee. The scholarship can be reapplied for without restriction according to the call for applications announced at the end of the next academic year, except for students who have completed their studies, as they are no longer eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship is based on merit. Evaluation of performance is determined by academic progress as well as achievements in sports and the arts. Applicants from countries in category\u00a01, listed in Appendix\u00a01, will receive preference over those from category\u00a02 during the evaluation process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Application requirements<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The applicant must establish their student status no earlier than September 2024 and no later than September 2027.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must be a citizen of one of the countries listed in the appendix of the application.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must have an active student status during the application period and is expected to maintain this status in the academic year following the application evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must have at least two active, completed semesters in undergraduate, master\u2019s, or single long-cycle programs with outstanding academic performance and\/or achievements in sports or the arts.<\/li>\n<li>If the applicant has also obtained a scholarship for outstanding academic achievement (KITA) in the given academic year, the amount of the KITA scholarship will be replaced by the amount of the Pannonia In Excellence Scholarship, i.e., the amount of the Pannonia In Excellence Scholarship will be granted to them.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must provide the necessary data for identification and verification of their eligibility; failure to do so will result in the application not being accepted.<\/li>\n<li>An application cannot be submitted by individuals who, during previous application cycles, have been found by the evaluation committee or other authorized university personnel (e.g., the ethics committee) to have provided false information or misled the reviewers in any way.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must have a bank account capable of receiving HUF transfers registered as the default in their Neptun account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>The Selection Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applications will be evaluated by the committee established under Decision No. 99572\/NHKK\/2024 with the following composition:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Vice-Rector for International Studies,<\/li>\n<li>Dean (or delegate) of the Faculty of Medicine,<\/li>\n<li>Dean (or delegate) of the Faculty of Dentistry,<\/li>\n<li>Dean (or delegate) of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Dean (or delegate) of the Faculty of Faculty of Health Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Dean (or delegate) of the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty,<\/li>\n<li>Chairpersons of the Students\u2019 Union, ISSA and DSVS or their delegates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Deadline for application:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applications must be submitted by <strong>15 October<\/strong> <strong>2026,<\/strong> via the <strong>Requests interface of the Neptun<\/strong> <strong>system<\/strong>. Students will be informed about the exact time of the opening of the interface. They will find this information on the university&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Amendments, objections and decision:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There is no opportunity to submit a request for an extension due to missing deadlines or incomplete applications. Incomplete or late applications will be rejected. Applicants may modify or amend their application (e.g. name, contact information or bank account number) if mistakes or changes occur.<\/p>\n<p>Applications submitted with all required documents and data will be evaluated by the evaluation committee specified in point 2 <strong>by 30 October 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Applicants have the right to appeal a rejection within 5 business days following receipt of the notification by contacting the Head of the Center of International Training Programs. The appeal shall state the specific action or omission of the committee being challenged. If the appeal is upheld, the committee shall re-evaluate the application accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Amount of scholarship:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Faculty of Medicine: HUF 2,000,000 per academic year per student<\/li>\n<li>Faculty of Dentistry: HUF 2,000,000 per academic year per student<\/li>\n<li>Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences: HUF 1,300,000 per academic year per student<\/li>\n<li>Faculty of Health Sciences: HUF 900,000 per academic year per student<\/li>\n<li>Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty: HUF 2,900,000 per academic year per student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To receive the scholarship<\/strong>, the recipient <strong>must have<\/strong> a bank account capable of receiving HUF transfers registered as the default in their Neptun account. Payments shall be made monthly by bank transfer to the account registered in the Neptun system, following the committee\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>The details of the awarded scholarship, which constitutes a benefit (including the legal title of the benefit and the amount of the awarded scholarship), shall be recorded in the Neptun system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>Repayment of scholarship:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Scholarship recipients who fail to meet the obligations outlined in the scholarship contract in part or in whole must repay the entire amount received, or the portion affected by the breach, plus interest for late payment as per the Civil Code of Hungary, within 8 days of receiving a notice by the University.<\/p>\n<p>In cases where it is established that the applicant provided false information during the evaluation process, they will also be required to repay the full amount of the scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship may be revoked in exceptional cases if, during their studies, the awarded student displays behavior unbefitting the University or is subject to disciplinary action resulting in an ethical violation.<\/p>\n<p>The full amount of the scholarship must be repaid if the recipient, due to reasons attributable to them, does not complete their studies at Semmelweis University (i.e., transfers to another institution before completing their degree, is expelled or terminates their student status for non-compelling reasons).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the year 2025 Semmelweis University introduced a new scholarship for international students.
