Important info for freshmen: <\/strong>The “NEK datasheet” and the “Student status certificate” do not entitle you for the student discount for public transportation. Only once you hold a valid “Temporary student card”, can you utilise the 50% discount. You can request a “Temporary student card” from the Directorate of International Studies, once you have received your Education ID and the NEK datasheet. Before receiving a “Temporary student card”, you will have to purchase and use full price tickets and passes to use public transportation, otherwise you will be fined!<\/div>\n

To obtain your student card swiftly, please follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Check your Neptun account for your Education ID Your Education ID should be available in Neptun under \u201cMy data\u201d\/personal information. This is necessary for issuing a temporary student card and processing the student card application. Please note that freshmen usually receive their education ID in the second half of September.<\/li>\n
  2. Submit your Student Card application If you have got your Education ID, go to the Application tab<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Send your NEK data sheet to studentcard@semmelweis.hu<\/a> or upload it here<\/a>\n

    1. Make sure that the NEK data sheet and your Neptun details match.<\/li>\n
    2. Neptun must contain both your permanent address (in your home country) and your residency address (in Hungary). Otherwise, we cannot submit a claim.<\/li>\n
    3. Information on how to enter the address to Neptun and how to finalise the Student Card application can be found on the Neptun FAQ page<\/a>, under question 5: \u201dHow can I upload my residency address?\u201d and under question 22: \u201dHow can I finalise my Student Card application in Neptun?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Wait for notification and then come to the Registrar\u2019s Office to take your temporary Student Card\/plastic Student Card.\n

      1. You will be notified by email once your card is ready. Please note that Temporary Student Card can only be collected in person.<\/li>\n
      2. When collecting your card, please select the \u201cstudent card\u201d option at the ticket machine.<\/li>\n
      3. Please note that the plastic Student Card must be validated with a sticker for each semester your student status is active. Please take care of your plastic Student Card and the sticker on its backside, because if you lose them, you will have to pay a surcharge.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
