All employees (Group A) and students (Group B) of the University are covered under a group life and accident insurance policy. This insurance coverage is valid 24 hours a day and applies worldwide.<\/p>\n
Claims related to insured events may be submitted using the claim form.<\/strong>\u202f In the event of a bone fracture, surgery necessitated by an accident, or disability resulting from an accident, the completed claim form must be submitted to the staff of the Claims Department working in the insurance division, along with medical certificates\/outpatient records, as well as proof of student or employee status.\u202fInsurance claims must be reported to the insurer as soon as possible, but no later than 90 days after the occurrence of the insured event.\u202f<\/strong><\/p>\n Please submit your claim in all cases via email to the Service Directorate at biztositas@semmelweis.hu.<\/strong><\/p>\n With regard to the death benefit provisions of the group life and accident insurance<\/strong>, both the insured student and the insured employee may designate the beneficiary entitled to receive benefits under the life and accident insurance policies in the document provided for this purpose (beneficiary designation).<\/p>\n Designating a beneficiary<\/strong> means that, in the event of an unfortunate death\u2014as an insured event\u2014the insurance proceeds paid out by the insurer will be paid directly to the beneficiary. If a beneficiary is designated, the process is expedited, as there is no need to wait for the issuance of a final probate order or decision. Thus, the beneficiary receives the agreed-upon insurance proceeds relatively quickly, which can be a significant help in covering the unexpected costs of such an extraordinary life situation.\u202f<\/p>\n If no beneficiary is designated, this insurance benefit will become part of the estate<\/strong>, and the heir(s) will be able to dispose of it only after the probate proceedings have been completed. In the case of death benefits, the beneficiary may be someone other than the legal heir, and there may be multiple beneficiaries at the same time; in such cases, 100% of the insurance proceeds must be distributed in full, without any remainder, according to the percentage shares each beneficiary is entitled to receive from the insurance proceeds.\u202f<\/p>\n If the beneficiary is a minor<\/strong>, the insurance proceeds will be deposited into a separate bank account, which will become accessible upon the beneficiary reaching the age of majority.<\/p>\n Method of submission of the document designating a beneficiary to the Insurer:<\/strong><\/p>\n CS\u00c9B Insurance Amounts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
