As a result, increased interest in doctoral programs is anticipated, and therefore, the deadline for applying for PhD and MD-PhD admissions\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"red\">has been <strong>extended to May 31, 2025.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"rgb(250, 250, 250)\"><strong>Students who are admitted in the first round to the currently announced traditional doctoral programs can apply for the new types of programs with higher scholarships in August 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Applications The complete <\/span>duration of the training is 1-4 semesters for research and preparing the dissertation.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Individual PhD Program<\/strong> is for those whose research, done outside the framework of a Doctoral School (e.g. work done abroad or in a research institution independent of universities) meets the requirements of awarding the PhD degree. Following <strong>a successful oral entrance examination, they immediately sit for the complex examination<\/strong>, and <strong>directly enter the Research and Dissertation Phase<\/strong> without going through the Educational and Research Phase and without taking courses. They subsequently receive their PhD degree through the same procedure as the Conventional PhD Program, except for <strong>having to meet a 50% higher publication requirement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"qaef-63146\" class=\"qe-faq-toggle forms-of-phd-edutacion\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"qe-toggle-title\">\n\t\t\t\t<h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t<i class=\"fa fa-minus-circle\"><\/i> Parallel graduate and PhD program (&#8222;MD-PhD program&#8221;)\t\t\t\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"qe-toggle-content\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Medical, dental and pharmacy students achieving outstanding results during their studies in frame of the Students\u2019 Scientific Association (TDK) can apply for the program in the last two years of their graduate studies under the guidance of their future supervisor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They can be entitled to PhD state-grant\u00a0 (only EU citizens) or can enroll as fee-paying students.<\/p>\n<p><b>They have to meet 150% IF requirements ( compering with non- MD-PhD students)\u00a0 to receive their PhD degree.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>MD-PhD\u00a0 students will have parallelly graduate and PhD student status, as well.<\/p>\n<p><b>To obtain the complex PhD exam, at least one accepted publication is required, which can be fulfilled with an original scientific article classified as a Q1 category journal article according to the MTMT classification, either as the first author or co-author.<\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"qaef-63145\" class=\"qe-faq-toggle forms-of-phd-edutacion\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"qe-toggle-title\">\n\t\t\t\t<h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t<i class=\"fa fa-minus-circle\"><\/i> Conventional, Regular (\u201cTrained\u201d) PhD Program\t\t\t\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"qe-toggle-content\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Regular (\u201cTrained\u201d) PhD Program\u00a0is <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">recommended for students with no or moderate scientific experience.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The training <strong>can be entered<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>after a successful entrance exam<\/strong>. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The complete duration of the training <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">is 5-8 semesters (4 semesters for training and research phase, 1-4 semesters for research and preparing the dissertation).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Training and Research Phase<\/strong> includes completion of research-related educational courses (16 credits altogether), and research work under the guidance of a supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>After the 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0semester the students sit for a\u00a0<strong>complex exam<\/strong>\u00a0to give account of the scientific knowledge gained and the research results achieved. After a successful exam they enter the second,\u00a0<strong>Research and Dissertation Phase<\/strong> in order to complete the research started in the first phase, to publish the results, and to prepare and submit their doctoral dissertation after a successful debate at the host institution. This is followed by public defence of the dissertation and, after a successful defence, awarding the PhD degree by the Doctoral Council.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisites of the PhD degree<\/strong>\u00a0are knowledge of a foreign language necessary for scientific activity (usually English), and fulfilment of the predetermined publication requirements (usually publication of 2 original papers in journals of high standing measured by their impact factor).
