In this spirit, it is considersed a priority task to promote the PhD students\u2019 academic careers by devising forms of support that enable the development of research performance and educational competencies during PhD training.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship is equivalent to 50% of the state PhD scholarship (that is, HUF 70,000\/month in the first two academic years of PhD training, and HUF 90,000\/month in the second two academic years), which can be supplemented by the host organizational unit from its own financial resources.<\/p>\n<p>The current grant applies to the second semester of the 2025\/2026 academic year (February 1, 2026 \u2013 August 31, 2026).<\/p>\n<h3>Conditions of application<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Active PhD student status in a state-funded or self-financed program, or MD\/PhD students who have completed their undergraduate studies.<\/li>\n<li>Persons with health services or other employment relationships exceeding 20 hours per week are not eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Excellent academic performance<\/strong> (70% of points to be obtained)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><u>For students facing a complex exam:<\/u><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>OTDK award<\/li>\n<li>International Conference Abstract<\/li>\n<li>Publications rated Q2 or more &#8211; maybe considered sufficient, provided that Semmelweis University is listed as an affiliation in the article<\/li>\n<li>Number of citations received for publications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><u>For students after a complex exam:<\/u><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Publications rated Q2 or more &#8211; maybe considered sufficient, provided that Semmelweis University is listed as an affiliation in the article<\/li>\n<li>Number of citations received for publications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Teaching activities carried out in theoretical or preclinical institutes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>(30 % of the possible points to be obtained)<\/p>\n<h3>Conditions for disbursing the scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>The beneficiary (grantee) undertakes to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>present his\/her research results at the PhD Scientific Days 2026<\/li>\n<li>meet the conditions for obtaining a PhD degree and submit his\/her PhD thesis by the deadline specified by law (within three years of the complex examination)<\/li>\n<li>Conclusion of a study contract with Semmelweis University, which includes the<strong> obligation to repay the grant in case of non-fulfilment of the undertaken obligations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>To be submitted to the application<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Short professional curriculum vitae (CV);<\/li>\n<li>List of publications printed from MTMT and certified by the University Central Library with indication of impact factor*, citations and ranking of journals (based on SCImago ranking: D1, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4); with the inclusion of the affiliation of both the student and the supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>In the case of publications already accepted for publication but not yet included in the MTMT, a copy of the letter of acceptance and the title page of the scientific article;<\/li>\n<li>Recommendation from heads of institute and\/or supervisors (optional);<\/li>\n<li>A copy of an international conference abstract copied from an abstract book &#8211; or downloaded from an online interface &#8211; (only required for PhD students facing the complex exam);<\/li>\n<li>A copy of OTDK award certificate(s) (required only for PhD students facing the complex exam).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/phd\/files\/2026\/01\/Declaration-by-supervisor.docx\">Thesis statement<\/a> (required)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/phd\/files\/2026\/01\/Declaration-by-the-clinic-and-department-head.docx\">Head of department declaration<\/a> (optional if you have a teaching activity or if you receive an institutional supplement).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Impact factor: Based on the year of publication, or, if that is not yet available, according to the most recent impact factor list<\/p>\n<div class=\"keretes w-100\">\n<p><strong>Applications must be submitted via the application platform at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/palyazz.semmelweis.hu\"><strong>https:\/\/palyazz.semmelweis.hu<\/strong><\/a><strong> by February 10, 2026. Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt by email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Decisions regarding the applications are expected to be made by March 10, 2026, and applicants will be notified by email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>We cannot accept applications sent after the deadline.
