<\/p>\nThe Vill\u00e1nyi street campus of Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty just opened its new wing for students and colleagues with an opening ceremony. The project included the renovation of classrooms, corridors, common areas, the construction of an accessible elevator, the purchase of new furniture and equipment, including rehabilitation robotics equipment and sports equipment.<\/p>\n

To start a semester with a hand over ceremony of a new or renewed building unit at the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty is almost a tradition – began her welcome speech at the ceremony – Dr. \u00c9va Feket\u00e9n\u00e9 Dr. Szab\u00f3, Vice Rector for Strategy and Development, Director of the Conductive Pedagogical Centre (KPK). According to her, this investment, in addition to the long overdue general renewal, reflects the cross-departmental cooperation, an exemplary spirit of commitment to a good cause among the staff.<\/p>\n

I am proud that since 2017, when the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty became part of Semmelweis University, significant infrastructural developments have contributed to the effectiveness of the work done here. Last year, the energy and infrastructure renewal of the K\u00fatv\u00f6lgyi campus was completed, and now we can celebrate the completion of a successful development at the Conductive Primary School and Vocational School of Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty,” said Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely at the event.<\/p>\n
In his welcome speech, the Rector of Semmelweis University emphasized that in the new spaces, students can participate in a more experiential and effective education in a modern environment with special equipment, while the students of the Conductive Education Bachelor’s program can participate in a higher quality practical training, and by learning the latest techniques used in rehabilitation and habilitation, they can more effectively help the development of severely and multiply disabled children and young people. „All this is in line with one of our university’s key objectives, the development of practice-oriented education, which we will now further enhance in the next academic year in the framework of Curriculum 2.0”, added Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely.<\/p>\n

In the six years since joining the university, while enjoying the support of the university, there has been steady progress regarding academic tasks and infrastructure renewal at our faculty, said Andrea Zsebe PhD., Dean of the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty. According to her, what has been accomplished with the help of the university and the funds is unique both at the K\u00fatv\u00f6lgyi campus and Vill\u00e1nyi campus. The latest project at the Vill\u00e1nyi campus will provide a completely renewed space for students, teachers, children studying here from Monday to Friday and also provide a home for them, the dean said, adding that they are trying to make good use of the funds received from the university.<\/p>\n

Beatrix Sereg, Director of the Directorate for Proposals and RDI Network Development, highlighted the cooperation and speed of the project – which enabled the successful implementation of the tender – and the involvement of the university’s additional resources. The project was completed on time, despite several redesigns to meet technical and pedagogical requirements.
