On February 27, 2026, Semmelweis University once again celebrated Hungarian Parasport Day with a showcase of various parasports, organized by the Physical Education and Sport Center and the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty. The event aimed to provide students from all university faculties with a closer look at specific parasport disciplines and the opportunity to gain first-hand experience.<\/p>\n

During the program, participants could try out six different sports under the guidance of experienced para-athletes. Wheelchair fencers and boccia players from the Pet\u0151 Sports Association took an active role in the demonstrations.<\/p>\n

The event opened with a welcome from Korn\u00e9lia V\u00e1rszegi, the lead organizer. Following this, Rector Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely emphasized in his greeting that supporting sports and student physical activity\u2014whether in elite sports, mass sports, or parasports\u2014is of paramount importance to the University. As part of the opening ceremony, the cheerleading team from the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty\u2019s Conductive Practice Primary School gave a performance. Representing the Faculty, Vice-Rector Dr. \u00c9va Feket\u00e9n\u00e9 Szab\u00f3, Director of the Conductive Pedagogical Center, and Dean Dr. Andrea Zsebe, Dean of the Faculty also attended the event.<\/p>\n[slb_exclude]
