{"id":3612,"date":"2018-12-05T11:31:52","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T10:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/pak\/?page_id=3612"},"modified":"2023-10-16T14:57:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T12:57:20","slug":"what-is-cerebral-palsy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/pak\/en\/about-conductive-education\/what-is-cerebral-palsy\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Cerebral Palsy?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"font_3\">What is Cerebral Palsy?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"font_8\">While Cerebral Palsy (pronounced seh-ree-brel pawl-zee) is a blanket term commonly described by loss or impairment of motor function, Cerebral Palsy is actually caused by brain damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The brain damage is <strong>caused by brain injury or abnormal development<\/strong> of the brain that occurs while a child\u2019s brain is still developing \u2014 before birth, during birth, or immediately after.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Cerebral Palsy affects<\/strong> body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. The child will likely experience a <strong>delay in development and growth milestones.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span>About <strong>two to three children out of every 1,000<\/strong> have Cerebral Palsy \u2013 studies in the United States studies have yielded<strong> rates as low as 2.3 per 1,000 children to as high as 3.6 per 1,000 children.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span>Today, although there is no cure for Cerebral Palsy, but the condition <a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/peto-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be managed<\/a> and <strong>individuals with Cerebral Palsy can live a long, healthy and quality life.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Cerebral Palsy?
