In South Korea, Dr. \u00c1goston Sz\u00e9l, Rector signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Samsung on the establishment of an Ultrasound Training Centre, while in Azerbaijan an agreement was signed with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Medical University which foresees the launching of an off-campus programme in Baku.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1664_1\"Semmelweis University and Samsung Madison signed an agreement to set up a jointly operated Ultrasound Training Centre. Dr. \u00c1goston Sz\u00e9l visited South Korea as a member of the delegation of the Ministry of National Economy, lead by Minister Mih\u00e1ly Varga. According to the agreement signed by the Rector and Wayne Spittle, Vice-President of Samsung Medison, Semmelweis University will become the company\u2019s educational centre in Eastern and Central Europe. The courses will enable students and doctors to acquire the technical basics of the latest diagnostic procedures.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1451_1\"Samsung is a South Korean company developing medical devices and systems. As part of the cooperation, the company donated a high-performance 5D ultrasound device to the 1st<\/sup> Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which accommodates large numbers of pregnant women with pathological conditions. Semmelweis University\u2019s 1st<\/sup> Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology have been running international courses together with Samsung for eight years.<\/p>\n

As a member of Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s delegation, Dr. \u00c1goston Sz\u00e9l visited Baku, capital of Azerbaijan at the beginning of March. During the two-day visit he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Sabir Aliyev, rector of the Azerbaijan Medical University.<\/p>\n

\"artur_rasizade_victor_orban_050316_04\"In the past year the leadership of Semmelweis University have held several meetings concerning the possibility of an off-campus programme in Baku. In order to achieve a successful cooperation, Dr. \u00c1goston Sz\u00e9l and Dr. Marcel Pop, Director of International Relations visited Baku in June 2015 on the invitation of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. The meetings were considered high priority by both the Azerbaijani and Hungarian governments.<\/p>\n

The 2015 visit was followed by further talks on the possibility of launching an off-campus programme as a result of the active collaboration and organisation of Zsolt Csutora, Deputy Secretary of State responsible for the strategy of Eastward Opening and Imre Laszl\u00f3czki, Hungarian ambassador to Azerbaijan. These negotiations lead to the recently signed agreement which provides ample opportunities for educational and research cooperation between the two universities.<\/p>\n
