The Syrian delegation, led by Dr. Mohamad Hasan al-Kurdi, President of the University of Damascus consisted of Vice-President Dr. Amjad Zeno and Dr. Mohamad Kayyal, Director of International Relations.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation was received by Dr. Gy\u00f6rgy Bagdy, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Dr. P\u00e9ter Hermann, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Marcel Pop, Director of International Relations and Dr. Judit Vadl\u00f6v\u0151, Project Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the Syrian delegation was to become familiar with the different study programmes at Semmelweis University and to get information on how Syrian students could enrol for the available courses.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7795\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/02\/RS43315_KA-20160121-IMG_0808-scr.jpg\" alt=\"RS43315_KA-20160121-IMG_0808-scr\" width=\"950\" height=\"633\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently there are 200,000 students studying at the University of Damascus. This number has drastically increased since the beginning of the civil war, because we have accommodated students from universities affected by the war, thus enabling them to continue their studies.\u201d, the President said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gy\u00f6rgy Bagdy introduced the different programmes of Semmelweis University and informed the delegation about the language choices.
