The purpose of the visit was to exchange professional experience, gain insight into best practices in healthcare delivery and institutional operations, and explore potential areas for future cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-35001 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-753x502.jpg 753w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl-203x135.jpg 203w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/nki\/files\/2026\/06\/RS238013_0E1A3788_scl.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The delegation of University Hospital Kr\u00e1lovsk\u00e9 Vinohrady was represented by Prof. Dr. Jan Gojda, PhD, Vice-Dean for Research at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Deputy Head of Department responsible for scientific and research affairs at the Department of Internal Medicine, as well as Michaela Pe\u0161tov\u00e1, responsible for international relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On behalf of Semmelweis University, the guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Attila Szab\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs, together with the leadership and staff of the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs. During the discussions, participants presented the structure and functioning of their institutions, highlighting differences between the Czech and Hungarian systems, while also identifying several potential areas for collaboration. Attention was given to clinical research, medical education and healthcare innovation, as well as strengthening professional links between Central European institutions, with special regard to enhancing healthcare cooperation among V4 countries and the possible establishment of a university hospital network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As part of the programme, a professional discussion was held at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care with Director Dr. Zsolt Moln\u00e1r, covering the care of critically ill patients, research related to nutritional therapy, and opportunities for international research collaboration and clinical trials. The parties emphasised that they face similar professional challenges and objectives across many areas of intensive care medicine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During the visit to the Department of Internal Medicine and Oncology, the delegation was received by Director Dr. Istv\u00e1n Tak\u00e1cs. The discussion focused on endocrinology and diabetology, with particular attention to the latest treatment options for type 2 diabetes, the use of automated insulin delivery systems, and the development of clinical research. Opportunities for regional cooperation were also discussed, with special regard to strengthening scientific and professional ties between Central European countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the afternoon, the programme continued at the V\u00e1rosmajor Heart and Vascular Centre, where the delegation was welcomed by Rector Prof. Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely. The guests were introduced to the clinical, educational and research activities of the centre, and gained insight into the newly established diagnostic and therapeutic facility. The modern infrastructure and high level of cardiovascular care, particularly the new diagnostic and therapeutic centre, generated strong professional interest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As the final programme element, the delegation visited the Anatomy &amp; Innovation Center for Education and Research (NOIKK), where Prof. Dr. Andr\u00e1s Kiss, Director of the Institute of Pathology, Forensic and Insurance Medicine, presented the university\u2019s newest educational and research facility, inaugurated in April 2026. The guests were given insight into the center\u2019s facilities still under development, as well as its internationally outstanding infrastructure designed for cadaver-based education and translational research. At the time of the visit, an international surgical skills training course was taking place, which clearly demonstrated the role of NOIKK in supporting modern, practice-oriented medical education and medical technology innovation.
