<\/p>\nWith the support of the Chinese-Foreign Cooperation Information Platform, Semmelweis University welcomed senior representatives of the Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 11 May 2026 to discuss potential areas of educational, research and professional cooperation between the two institutions.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Lin Sheng, Chairman of the University Council. The delegation also included Chen Lingqi, Director of the International Cooperation & Exchange Office, Zeng Weiquan, Chairman of the Hospital Council, Huang Jia, Dean of the College of Rehabilitation Clinical Medicine, and Wu Jinsong, Vice Dean of the Rehabilitation Industry Research Institute.<\/p>\n
The official programme began at the Central Building of Semmelweis University, where the delegation was welcomed by Dr. P\u00e9ter Hermann, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs. The introductory presentation on Semmelweis University was delivered by Dr. Tam\u00e1s Heged\u00fcs, Director for International Relations and Alumni Affairs. In his presentation, he introduced the university\u2019s history, current operations and future strategic objectives. He also emphasized the importance of Chinese-Hungarian academic and scientific relations, highlighting that Chinese students represent the third largest international student community at Semmelweis University. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Vilmos Iv\u00e1dy, Rector\u2019s Commissioner, Levente B\u00e9la V\u00e1g\u00f3, Deputy Director, Antal Nikl, International Project Manager, Judit Szlov\u00e1k, Head of Department, and Gr\u00e9ta Petr\u00e1s, International Relations Expert.<\/p>\n
On behalf of the Chinese delegation, Lin Sheng presented the university. He highlighted the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in integrated healthcare and emphasized the international significance of the institution\u2019s rehabilitation and traditional medicine education programmes. Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the first higher education institution in Fujian Province dedicated to Traditional Chinese Medicine and remained the only such institution in the province for decades. The university is ranked among the top ten Traditional Chinese Medicine universities in the Shanghai Ranking. During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for joint educational programmes, student and faculty mobility, as well as research collaborations in the field of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine.<\/p>\n
The programme continued at the Faculty of Health Sciences, where the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Gabriella D\u00f6rnyei, Dean of the Faculty. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Istv\u00e1n Vingender, Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Zolt\u00e1n Balogh, Head of the Department of Nursing, Dr. M\u00f3nika Horv\u00e1th, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Wang Lifen, Coordinator of the Traditional Chinese Medicine programme, and \u00c9va K\u00e1m\u00e1n, International Coordinator. During the discussions, both parties showed strong interest in each other\u2019s educational and research achievements, particularly in the fields of rehabilitation and physiotherapy, where several potential areas of cooperation were quickly identified.<\/p>\n
The leadership of the Faculty of Health Sciences also presented the faculty\u2019s Traditional Chinese Medicine education programme. Traditional Chinese Medicine training has been offered at Semmelweis University for more than a decade in cooperation with a Chinese partner university. The programme was restructured in 2022 in order to provide a more modern and shorter training pathway for qualified medical doctors and dentists. During the meeting, the possibility of joint research projects, joint programmes and faculty visits was also discussed, along with the intention to prepare a future cooperation agreement.<\/p>\n
The delegation subsequently visited the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where the guests were welcomed by Dr. Mih\u00e1ly F\u00f3ri\u00e1n-Szab\u00f3, specialist physician. During the visit, he provided a detailed presentation on the institution\u2019s operation, rehabilitation care model and the application of modern therapeutic technologies. The delegation also visited the robotic therapy unit and later held discussions with Prof. Dr. G\u00e1bor Fazekas, Head of Department and Division, and Dr. Istv\u00e1n G\u00e9recz, Economic Director. The Chinese guests expressed great interest in the innovative rehabilitation solutions applied at the clinic and highly appreciated the institution\u2019s modern infrastructure and professional operations.<\/p>\n\r\n [slb_exclude]\r\n
