Dent Neurological Institute has entered into an agreement with the four Hungarian medical universities that teach medicine to provide 8 week credit-bearing senior electives to medical students who are in their 6th year of education (apply for the program during 5th year)<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

The rotations begin four times a year, approximately in July, September, and December of next year and March of the year following the next. The exact dates will be determined by HMAA (shortly after interview).<\/p>\n

The purpose of the program is to facilitate the exchange of students as well as experience and knowledge between the involved medical universities. With this program the HMAA contributes and provides broad medical knowledge to young Hungarian physicians who are entering the Hungarian health care system.<\/p>\n

This program is sponsored and managed by the Hungarian Medical Association of America, HMAA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students may take the following electives<\/h3>\n

Headache Medicine
\nNeurology
\nChild Neurology
\nObstetrics and Gynecology<\/p>\n

Please note that these electives are subject to availability at the time of the rotation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Financing<\/h3>\n

Students are expected to cover:<\/h5>\n

Round trip air transportation
\nHealth insurance
\nMedical liability (coordinated by HMAA) is appr. USD 2-300 for 2 months
\nMeal costs (some Buffalo departments provide meal tickets for use in the hospital)
\nStudents accepted for the program will contribute to their housing in the amount of 500 USD per month (1000 USD total)<\/p>\n

Financial Support<\/h3>\n

Pallas Ath\u00e9n\u00e9 Innov\u00e1ci\u00f3s \u00e9s Geopolitikai Alap\u00edtv\u00e1ny (PAIGEO): estimated 1210 USD support (per person for 2 months based on the 2022\/2023 academic year stipend) for all the Hungarian* students who participate in the Buffalo Exchange program (no need for additional application).\u00a0 \u2013 on HOLD until further notice.<\/p>\n

Eligibility: Hungarian students (per academic year) who participate in the Buffalo Exchange Program and are from the Hungarian and English Language Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who can apply?<\/h3>\n

The program is open to students of all four Hungarian medical universities. Medical students who are in their 5th year of education at the beginning of September 2023. Medical students with Hungarian heritage may apply from both the Hungarian and English language programs. Only HMAA members can apply for the exchange program (membership is free for medical students, for further information visit the HMAA home- page).<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/strong>: applications must be postmarked by April 1st, 2024 by midnight.<\/p>\n

Applications emailed later than this date will not be accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only online applications will be accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The application must be complete or it will be rejected.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The interview will take place on April 17, 2024. ( SE \u2013 International Directorate, Bp, \u00dcll\u0151i \u00fat 25 Room #220 -Dr Pop Marcel`s office)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
