The exact dates will be determined by HMAA at the beginning of May 2022. (Interview date: 5\/5\/22)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Program is to facilitate the exchange of medical students as well as expand the experience and knowledge between the involved medical universities. With this program the HMAA allows students develop improved medical knowledge and establish long term professional relationships, that in turn fosters improved healthcare in Hungary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This program is sponsored and managed by the\u00a0Hungarian Medical Association of America, HMAA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ttl ttl-m\">Students may take the following electives<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Vascular Surgery\/Surgery<\/li>\n<li>Anesthesiology<\/li>\n<li>Neurology\/Stroke Unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note that these electives are subject to availability at the time of the rotation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ttl ttl-m\">Financing<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Students are expected to cover:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Round trip air transportation<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance<\/li>\n<li>Medical liability insurance\/Malpractice<\/li>\n<li>Full practice fee for Semmelweis students: 1000 USD<\/li>\n<li>Meal costs<\/li>\n<li>Housing<\/li>\n<li>Cost of books, materials if required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"ttl ttl-m\">Financial Support<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Pallas Ath\u00e9n\u00e9 Innov\u00e1ci\u00f3s \u00e9s Geopolitikai Alap\u00edtv\u00e1ny (PAIGEO): estimated 1816 USD support (per person for 3 months based on the 2022-2023 academic year stipend) for maximum 4-6 (per academic year) of the Hungarian* students who participate in the Houston Exchange program (no need for additional application, the decision made by the HMAA based on the interview and application results).<\/li>\n<li>Campus Mundi (individual application is needed!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility: only for the Hungarian students (per academic year) who participate in the Houston Exchange Program and are from the Hungarian Language Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ttl ttl-m\">Who can apply?<\/h2>\n<p>The program is open to students of all Hungarian medical schools. Medical students who are in their 6th year of education at the beginning of September 2022 .<\/p>\n<p>Medical students with Hungarian heritage may apply from both the Hungarian and English language programs.<\/p>\n<p>Only HMAA Hungary Chapter members can apply for the exchange program (membership is free for medical students, further information visit the Hungary Chapter page).<\/p>\n<p>Students must apply only one location from the HMAA Exchange Programs!
