The visit aimed to provide an overview of the Hungarian system for medical training, further education and specialisation. Led by Oliver Yoa-Pu Hu, Minister without Portfolio, the delegation also included various representatives of Taiwan\u2019s Examination Yuan.<!--more--> Wellington Shih and Carl Liu from the Taipei Representative Office in Hungary attended the meeting as observers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2267\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2267\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2267  \" title=\"The Taiwanese delegation and Semmelweis University's representatives\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2011\/09\/taiwani_delegacio-9_330px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"216\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2267\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The delegation and the University&#039;s representatives<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Taiwanese delegation was received by Vice-Rector R\u00f3bert Langer, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Zolt\u00e1n Zsolt Nagy, President of the Doctoral Council K\u00e1roly R\u00e1cz, and Director of International Relations Marcel Pop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Following an introductory presentation of Semmelweis University, Vice-Rector R\u00f3bert Langer outlined the general structure of medical education in Hungary. He identified the biggest challenge in recent years to be the question of whether to adopt the Bologna process &#8211; already accepted by several European nations &#8211; in the training of medical doctors, adding that all four medical faculties in Hungary consider the classic six-year M.D. programme to be indivisible.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2268\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2268\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2268 \" title=\"Taiwan delegation leader Oliver  Yoa-Pu Hu presents gift to Vice-Rector R\u00f3bert Langer\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2011\/09\/taiwani_delegacio-8_300px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2268\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oliver Yoa-Pu Hu and Dr. R\u00f3bert Langer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Professor K\u00e1roly R\u00e1cz responded to questions from the delegation regarding the specialist training of newly qualified doctors, while Professor Zolt\u00e1n Zsolt Nagy presented the oral, written and practical examination system in place at the University\u2019s Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the end of the meeting, Professor Nagy, who has already been to Taiwan on official visits, expressed his hope that more Taiwanese students will join the ten that currently study at the University, whom he characterised as diligent and hard-working.
