The Department of Surgical Research and Techniques operated as an institute between 2010 and 2020. From July 1, 2020, it operates as a department of the Heart and Vascular Center of V\u00e1rosmajor. It plays an important role in the development of manual skills of medical students at Semmelweis University, postgraduate PhD students, surgical residents and surgery specialists taking part in continuous education. We have been participating in undergraduate education and PhD training since 2011, and since 2016 we have been organizing the 4-week, compulsory Surgical Skill Training Course for young colleagues in specialist training in manual professions.<\/p>\n

The staff of the Department directs and organizes the work of the Workplace Animal Welfare Committee (M\u00c1B), which supervises activities related to animal experiments at Semmelweis University. The infrastructure of our department provides space for the organization of the training and annual in-service training of researchers and specialists (Experimental animals – PhD and in-service training in animal experiments).<\/p>\n

In our microsurgery skill laboratory, 10 diploscope operating microscopes and microsurgical equipment is available to residents and specialists of orthopedic traumatology, plastic surgery, as well as further training for foreign participants.<\/p>\n

From 2014, as a partner of international consortia, the department is\u00a0 also supported by the European Union’s Erasmus + Program. Our goal is to modernize and standardize vocational training in surgery, as well as to develop manual and intellectual skills. With the help of the projects, young colleagues participating in Hungarian surgical vocational training will be able to develop their surgical and interpersonal skills from home, using the most modern e-learning and digital technology-based (TEL-based) methods, simulators, serious games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

I would like to welcome you to our website, with the help of which we would like to present you the largest center of manual skills development in Hungary. Our activities involve the largest number of students and cover the entire vertical of education.
