Schedule<\/a>
\nEach group has seven practices in the semester, so you have to attend the course every second week. (Week \u2019A\u2019 starts the Semester)<\/p>\n

The topics of the practices:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Basic suturing techniques on ex-vivo animal model (simple interrupted suture). Knotting techniques. Introduction the basic surgical instruments.<\/li>\n
  2. Heart and Vasular Center (Address: 1122 Budapest, Ga\u00e1l J\u00f3zsef 9-11.) Getting acquainted with the operating room, rules and behavior in the operating room, scrubbing-in and preparation of the surgical field.<\/li>\n
  3. Basic suturing techniques on ex-vivo animal model (interrupted sutures). Demonstration of the laparoscopic tower and instruments. Practicing eye-brain-hand coordination and fine hand movements using a laparoscopic pelvitrainer.<\/li>\n
  4. Basic suturing techniques on ex-vivo animal model (continuous sutures). Practicing eye-brain-hand coordination and fine hand movements using a laparoscopic pelvitrainer.<\/li>\n
  5. Practicing eye-brain-hand coordination and fine hand movements using a laparoscopic pelvitrainer. Microsurgery.<\/li>\n
  6. Scrubbing in and preparation of the surgical fied. Consultation.<\/li>\n
  7. Practical exam.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PLEASE NOTE! During each course proper nail hygiene is necessary (fingertip-high nails). In addition, use of nail-polish, artificial nails, any jewelry, including watches are prohibited. Offenders of this policy will take part in the practice but this will be an absent.<\/p>\n

    Practices that should be retaken in the 2nd Semester:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    RETAKING DATE: Due to Easter Monday, the 4th retaking practice for Groups 14 and 16 will be held on 30th March\u00a0 14:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The 7th practice is the practical part of the exam. Please, participate in your original group.<\/p>\n

    Presence-absence at the practices<\/h2>\n

    Presence-absence at the practices<\/strong>
    \n\u201eBasic surgical techniques\u201d practices will be held seven times during the semester. The attendance is mandatory for each practice. The presence will be regularly checked and documented by the Department. EVERYBODY SHOULD VISIT THE GROUP PRACTICES IN WHICH HE OR SHE IS REGISTERED IN THE NEPTUN. Due to the fact that the capacity of the Operating Lab is limited it is not allowed to have more than 15 students in a group. The number of missed practices may not exceed more than 25%. That means only ONE absence is acceptable during the semester. If any student misses two or more practices, the Department will refuse to sign the subject. Due to the limited capacity of the Operating Lab, only one absence can be repeated during the semester after registration (    HERE<\/a>) by joining another group.<\/p>\n

    Everybody should register for himself\/herself. We do not register anybody!<\/p>\n\n<\/div>

    Practice location<\/strong> From the 1st to 3rd 4th and the 7th practices are taking place in the Operating Lab (OL) in the NET building. OL is accessed from the Main Hall of the NET. Follow the signs down by the stairs. The 2nd practices will be held at the Heart and Vascular Clinic in V\u00e1rosmajor (Budapest XII. district, Ga\u00e1l J\u00f3zsef \u00fat 9-11.). Assembly in front of the cloakroom at the entrance on Ga\u00e1l J\u00f3zsef street 15 minutes before the practice time. The 5th and the 6th practices will be held partly in the 3rd Seminar room (gathering at OL).<\/p>\n

    Security and lost objects<\/strong>
    \nAt the first lesson, students will acknowledge in writing that they understand and accept the rules and regulations of the labor safety and fire service during the surgical practices. In the Operating Lab lockers are available to place all values. The Department of Experimental Cardiology and Surgical Techniques recommends to practice vigilance and you must not leave your personal values \u2013 such as jeweler, watches or others \u2013 in unsafe areas or accidentally in the pockets of the scrubbing suits. The department and its management cannot be reliable for the lost or stolen items.
