Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

I joined the Research Laboratory of the 3rd Department of Internal Medicine as a medical student and studied the role of the complement system in thrombotic microangiopathies, which formed the basis of my diploma thesis. Since my graduation on the Medical Faculty of the Semmelweis University in 2013 I have been working in the Research Laboratory.<\/p>\n

My primary research interest is the pathogenesis of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), especially the development of the anti-ADAMTS13 antibodies, which formed the topic of my PhD thesis.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our attention has also turned towards this disease affecting so many people: we are investigating the role of the complement system and the von Willebrand factor \u2013 ADAMTS13 axis in the pathogenesis of COVID-19 and associated diseases.<\/p>\n

Besides research I also take part in the diagnostic activities in our laboratory including ADAMTS13 and complement diagnostics.<\/p>\n
