These efforts are supported by incoming donations that we post on this constantly updated page as a way of saying thanks. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Our work at the university, consisting of patient care, research, education and administrative activities supporting them can be aided via three foundations. Founded in 1802, the public collection allows the greats of the past and the heroes of the present to symbolically \u201cmeet\u201d in their long-standing exhibition spaces. The campaign will run until <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">11 <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">March, 2022, the two-year anniversary of the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">introduction of the<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> first restricti<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ve measures <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">due to the epidemic. Those interested, together with their companions, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">may<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> take advantage of the discount <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">during opening hours <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">on Thursday<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and Sunday<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s. With their voluntary support, the employees of the Hungarian construction company aimed to acknowledge the sacrificial work of the nursing staff of the health care institutions performed in the epidemiological situation. The donation was symbolically handed over on 14 May by Laura Puszta, Operational HR Manager of Market \u00c9p\u00edt\u0151 Zrt. and Edit Blahut, Office Manager to Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, Professor, Rector of Semmelweis University, Director of the Heart and Vascular Center.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">On the occasion of International Nurses Day, colleagues at the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center surprised the nurses at the Geriatric<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Clinic and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Center for <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Nursing Science<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> of the 250-year-old p<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">restigious<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Semmelweis University\u2019<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> S<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">zent R\u00f3kus<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Clinical Block with sweet delicacies prepared by Executive Chef R\u00f3bert Melis and his team. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Because of the events of the past year, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">an <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">even greater recognition and gratitude go to those who persevere in the current situation and take care of our loved ones day after day when they meet them in the most vulnerable situation, sick, freshly operated, or only weakened due to old age. The visit took a touching turn when a package of very kind drawings was handed over to our colleagues by the hospital staff <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">in recognition of the kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>MOL-LUB Kft., a manufacturer and distributor of disinfectants offered small packages of alcohol-based hand disinfectants for workers of inpatient institutions in Hungary.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>MOL Hygi Fluid 200 ML &#8211; 2729 pcs<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>MOL Hygi Fluid 500 ML &#8211; 2999 pcs<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy receives televisions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eight LED televisions were donated to Semmelweis University&#8217;s Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Thearpy by the foundation &#8222;Ne dobd ki&#8221; (Do not throw it away) in addition to the 13 TVs that they donated to the Department&#8217;s COVID care division in November. The newly donated TVs will be installed there as well.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy receives a donation of masks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>KC Struktur Kft. donated 50 of their newly developed and 3D printed half masks to Semmelweis University\u2019s Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Thearpy. The masks were handed over to Dr. Judit Laki, employee of the department by Bogl\u00e1rka Cs\u0151sz, the company\u2019s co-owner and head of external relations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/koronavirus\/2021\/02\/19\/the-department-of-anesthesiology-and-intensive-therapy-receives-masks-as-a-donation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read the article \u2192<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Semmelweis University foundation received a donation of four million forints for epidemic control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Semmelweis University Foundation spent four million HUF donated by Lurdy H\u00e1z Kft. on the acquisition of equipment necessary for COVID patient care. The donation was symbolically given to Dr. Attila Szab\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs and Ir\u00e9n Baumgartnern\u00e9 Holl\u00f3, Director General of Economic Management by Dr. Stephen Szak\u00e1l, Managing Director of the shopping centre and Fanni Zwichl, Marketing and Communication Manager.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/2021\/02\/semmelweis-university-foundation-received-a-donation-of-four-million-forints-for-epidemic-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read the article \u2192<\/a><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Budapest Operetta Theatre donated a thousand masks with unique patterns to the 1st Department of Paediatrics<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The staff of the Budapest Operetta Theatre made masks mainly from textiles that were left over from making costumes. Half of the donation will be given to sick children and the other half to the staff of the 1st Department of Paediatrics.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">A lifesaving neonatal transport incubator was donated to Semmelweis University&#8217;s Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology by the <strong>M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros Group<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\"><strong>L\u2019Or\u00e9al Hungary<\/strong> offered 1,000 gift packages containing beauty products to the nurses working at Semmelweis University on the occasion of International Nurses Day.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\"><strong>Auchan Magyarorsz\u00e1g Zrt.<\/strong> supports the nationwide representative screening project with <strong>posters<\/strong>. The posters drawing the attention to the importance of <a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/2020\/04\/semmelweis-university-to-lead-hungarian-medical-universities-in-conducting-countrywide-testing-rounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the COVID-19 screening tests<\/a> performed by the Hungarian medical universities will be displayed in the Auchan supermarkets all over Hungary this week. <\/span><\/span>Auchan Magyarorsz\u00e1g Zrt. pays for the production and the installation of the posters as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<p>The <strong>Kolping Association of Pestszenterzs\u00e9bet<\/strong> donated HUF 1,000,000 to the <strong>Semmelweis Foundation<\/strong> to support coronavirus related research.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div id=\"GroupWiseSection_1588323637000_kovacs.eszter@semmelweis-univ.hu_79AE05810C1E0000A8B8FDB1764A2942_\" class=\"GroupWiseMessageBody active\">\n<div><strong>Hungarian medical universities receive support in the nationwide screenings<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>On behalf of all four Hungarian medical universities we would like to thank the Water Rescue Services of Hungary, the Petz Alad\u00e1r Teaching Hospital in Gy\u0151r and the Bajcsy Zsilinszky Hospital and Clinic in Budapest for their voluntary help and support. The institutions volunteered to join the<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/2020\/04\/semmelweis-university-to-lead-hungarian-medical-universities-in-conducting-countrywide-testing-rounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> nationwide screening programme<\/a>, announced on 28th April by the four Hungarian medical universities, which aims to draw an accurate picture of the actual number of infected and re-infected people. Based on the results, an epidemiological study is going to be prepared on the actual number of virus infections in Hungary, how many people have got infected so far, who may have become immune against the virus and how many may be asymptomatic carriers of the virus.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>MOL Hungary donates respiratory support machines to Semmelweis University<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div id=\"GroupWiseSection_1585302559000_hajnal.agnes1@med.semmelweis-univ.hu_8790060112700000B4706F6437366334_\" class=\"GroupWiseMessageBody active\">\n<div>Five breathing support machines worth approximately 19 million forints have been donated to <strong>Semmelweis University\u2019s V\u00e1rosmajor Heart and Vascular Centre<\/strong> by <strong>MOL<\/strong> as a contribution to the healing work during the epidemic.
