It supports two-way\u00a0mobility \u2014 of foreign scholarship\u00a0holders to Slovakia as well as\u00a0of Slovak scholarship holders abroad.\u00a0Scholarships cover living costs\u00a0related to the scholarship stay. Slovak\u00a0scholarship applicants may also apply\u00a0for a travel grant.<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">The Programme scholarship\u00a0holders are scholarship holders of the\u00a0Government of the Slovak Republic.\u00a0The National Scholarship Programme\u00a0is fi nanced by the Ministry\u00a0of Education, Science, Research\u00a0and Sport of the Slovak Republic,\u00a0and administered by SAIA, n. o.<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>SAIA, n. o.<\/h2>\n<div>SAIA, n. o. (Slovak Academic\u00a0Information Agency) is\u00a0a non-governmental non-profi t\u00a0organisation that, since its\u00a0establishment in 1990, has\u00a0been implementing programmes\u00a0and providing services aimed\u00a0at enhancement of civil society,\u00a0and assisting in internationalisation\u00a0of education and research in Slovakia.\u00a0SAIA provides information and\u00a0advisory services related to study and\u00a0research mobility, administers several\u00a0scholarship and grant programmes,\u00a0and promotes Slovak universities\u00a0and research organisations abroad.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>SAIA Major Programmes:<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Mobility<\/li>\n<li>Central European Exchange Programme\u00a0for University Studies (CEEPUS)<\/li>\n<li>Action Austria \u2013 Slovakia, Co-operation in Science\u00a0and Education<\/li>\n<li>National Scholarship Programme for the Support\u00a0of Mobility<\/li>\n<li>Sciex-NMSch \u2013 Swiss-Slovak Scholarship Fund<\/li>\n<li>EURAXESS Services Centres for Researchers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Foreign Applicants for Scholarship\u00a0Stays in Slovakia<\/h2>\n<h3>What is offered?<\/h3>\n<p> <strong>scholarships covering living costs<\/strong><br \/>\n related to a study stay (1 \u2014 2 semesters) of foreign university students\u00a0at a Slovak university during their Master studies related to a study\/research stay (1 \u2014 12 months) of PhD students\u00a0from foreign universities\/research organisations at a university or research\u00a0organisation eligible to carry out PhD study programme in Slovakia during\u00a0their PhD studies<br \/>\nrelated to a lecture, research or artistic stay (1 \u2014 12 months) of university\u00a0teachers, researchers or artists from foreign universities\/research\u00a0organisations at a university, research organisation eligible to carry out\u00a0PhD study programme or non-governmental organisation in Slovakia<br \/>\nIndividuals with permanent residence in Slovakia and citizens of the Slovak Republic\u00a0studying or working at universities or research organisations abroad cannot apply\u00a0for the Programme scholarship for foreign applicants.<\/p>\n<h3>Citizens of which countries are eligible?<\/h3>\n<p>Citizens of the following countries can apply for the scholarship:<br \/>\na) the Member States of the European Union;<br \/>\nb) other countries participating in the Bologna Process (listed are just non-EU\u00a0Member States) \u2014 Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and\u00a0Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Republic\u00a0of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Russian Federation, Serbia\u00a0(including Kosovo), Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine;<br \/>\nc) Belarus;<br \/>\nd) Canada, Mexico, USA, countries of Latin and Central America;<br \/>\ne) Australia, China (including Taiwan), Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan,\u00a0Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Republic of South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam.<\/p>\n<h3>What is the amount of a scholarship?<\/h3>\n<p>a) university student 280 \u20ac<br \/>\nb) PhD student 470 \u20ac<br \/>\nc) university teacher, researcher or artist:<br \/>\n\u2022 without PhD degree and less than 4 years of practice 670 \u20ac<br \/>\n\u2022 with PhD degree or more than 4 years of practice 850 \u20ac<br \/>\n\u2022 with PhD degree and more than 10 years of practice 1 000 \u20ac<br \/>\nThe amount of a scholarship shall cover average living costs of a scholarship\u00a0holder.<\/p>\n<h3>How to apply?<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants shall apply on-line at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholarships.sk\" target=\"_blank\">www.scholarships.sk<\/a>. System opens not later\u00a0than 6 weeks before the deadline. After submitting on-line application form\u00a0(with all attachments), applicant shall deliver original hard copy of host institution\u00a0Invitation Letter to SAIA Bratislava before the deadline. Information concerning\u00a0application forms and required documents can be found at the Programme website.<\/p>\n<h3>What are the deadlines for submitting application\u00a0forms?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>30 April by 16:00 CET \u2014 scholarship stays for the next academic year<\/li>\n<li> 31 October by 16:00 CET \u2014 scholarship stays for the summer semester\u00a0of the running academic year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mandatory conditions and more information about the Programme at:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholarships.sk\" target=\"_blank\">www.scholarships.sk<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Slovak Applicants for Scholarship\u00a0Stays and Travel Grants Abroad<\/h2>\n<h3>What is offered?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>scholarships covering living costs<\/strong><br \/>\nrelated to a study stay abroad (1 \u2014 2 semesters or 1 \u2014 3 trimesters)\u00a0of Slovak university students during their Master studies\u00a0related to a study\/research stay abroad (1 \u2014 12 months) of PhD students\u00a0from Slovak universities or research organisations eligible to carry out\u00a0PhD study programme (e. g. the Slovak Academy of Sciences) during\u00a0their PhD studies<\/li>\n<li><strong>travel grants<\/strong> \u2014 contributions to travel costs related to study,\u00a0research\/artistic or lecture stays abroad of students of Slovak universities\u00a0during their Master studies, full-time PhD students of Slovak universities\u00a0during their PhD studies and university teachers, researchers or artists\u00a0from Slovak universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-size: 80%\">*\u00a0Students and PhD students can apply for travel grant directly together with a scholarship\u00a0(they submit just a scholarship application form), or independently, without a scholarship\u00a0(they submit just a travel grant application form)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Which country can you choose for your scholarship stay?<\/h3>\n<p>The Programme scholarship is not country limited. After being awarded\u00a0a scholarship, you can carry out your scholarship stay in any country\u00a0of the world<\/p>\n<h3>What is the amount of a scholarship?<\/h3>\n<p>The amount of a scholarship is set for every country individually. It shall\u00a0cover average living costs during scholarship stay. When setting the amount\u00a0of a scholarship, just living costs are taken into consideration. It does\u00a0not cover other costs, e. g. tuition fee.<br \/>\nAt <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stipendia.sk\" target=\"_blank\">www.stipendia.sk<\/a> a list of countries can be found, to which scholarships\u00a0have already been granted.<\/p>\n<h3>What is the amount of a travel grant?<\/h3>\n<p>Travel grant is a contribution related to travel costs to and from a scholarship\u00a0stay. Scholarship stay shall last at least one month, in the case of students\u00a0at least one academic term (semester\/trimester). Selection Committee\u00a0awards the amount of a travel grant taking into consideration up-to-date prices\u00a0of transportation and fi nancial possibilities of the Programme.<\/p>\n<h3>How to apply?<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants shall apply on-line at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stipendia.sk\" target=\"_blank\">www.stipendia.sk<\/a>. System opens\u00a0not later than 6 weeks before the deadline.
