The biggest library of Semmelweis University, which everybody just calls “Mikszi”, is only a couple minutes of walking distance away from the Inner Clinical Block. Thanks to its location, there are a lot of cafés and restaurants in the neighbourhood, and it is exceptionally well-accessible via public transport. It is optimal for night owls and early birds as well, with it being open 24/7.

It has the largest amount of seating, with several quiet and loud reading rooms and several computer seats on 3 floors, on a floorspace of almost 1300 m2, so everyone can find a spot for themselves. At the initiative of the Students’ Union, a capsule-based coffee machine, a water heater and a microwave oven was provided to the library. There is a lamp and a power outlet at almost every seat.
The library can be visited by anybody during the day. After 8 PM and on weekends, only students and workers of the University are eligible to enter, so make sure to have your valid student ID with you (or a university entrance card) if you wish to enter at those times. Borrowing requires a registration, but it’s free for students of the University. The wide range of available books makes learning easier, because you don’t need to carry the heavy books with you, you can read them in the library and there are usually multiple copies ready for rent. During the exam period, it is advised to wake up early and hunt for places, as the library usually becomes full at around 9-10 AM, and stays like that until the evening hours. You can check the number of free spots available on the website of the Central Library.

• reading at the location
• computers (with internet, connected to the university network)
• borrowing professional and educational books

• use of anatomical models at the location

The EOK Library is easily accessible, because almost everyone has lectures or seminars in the building. Its smaller than “Mikszi”, but is also open all day. The library is only accessible for Semmelweis students and workers, this is checked at the entrance. Please have your student ID or university entrance card ready.
Those who wish to study in peace can take a seat in the reading hall, which is distributed on 2 levels. The stairs are somewhat disturbingly in the middle of the hall, so the walking up and down the stairs is commonplace. There is a light and power source at nearly every table. There are also some computer seats available.
A relatively new addition is the cabinet containing various anatomical models, which is of great help for first- and second-year students if they are unable to visit the Anatomy Museum or consultations, as they can take a look at their currently-studied anatomical parts using several different models, on the spot.

Use of the library is subject to prior registration, which you may perform on the following webpage. https://lib.semmelweis.hu/library_card
