The exact dates will be determined by HMAA at the beginning of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>This program is sponsored and managed by the <strong>HUNGARIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, HMAA<\/strong> <strong>(www.hmaa.org.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Program is to facilitate the exchange of students as well as experience and knowledge between the involved medical universities. With this program the HMAA contributes and provides broad medical knowledge<\/p>\n<p><strong>to young Hungarian physicians who are entering the Hungarian health care system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Students may take the following electives:<\/strong> Internal Medicine \u2013 Endocrinology; Hospitalist; Pediatrics \u2013 Child Neurology; Neurosurgery; Neurology; Surgical Oncology; Medical Oncology; Neuroradiology\/Radiology; Dermatology; Gyn-Oncology; Psychiatry; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;Surgery; Emergency Care<\/p>\n<p>Please note that these electives are subject to availability at the time of the rotation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Financing:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nStudents are expected to cover:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Round trip air transportation<br \/>\n\u2022 Cost of books, materials if required<br \/>\n\u2022 Health insurance<br \/>\n\u2022 Meal costs (some Buffalo departments provide meal tickets for use in the<br \/>\nhospital)<br \/>\n\u2022 Medical liability (coordinated by HMAA)<\/p>\n<p>Student housing is provided by the HMAA in Buffalo. Please note that max. 4 students may participate at one particular rotation. Once you have given us your preferred rotation time (eg. January 2015) there is a limited possibility to change it later. All possible changes of rotation times are coordinated by Semmelweis University.<\/p>\n<p>Selected applicants are encouraged to submit an application for financial support to the HAESF.\u00a0(Hungarian American Enterprize Scholarship Fund). The deadline of applications for the first three rotations is 1 April 2014 and for the fourth rotation 15 October 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Students who receive a scholarship from HAESF are expected to pay USD 150 a month each to offset some of the costs. The malpractice insurance for 3 months is appr. It would be preferable if applications from one partner university were posted at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements (submitted in 2 copies):<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Completed Application Form<br \/>\n\u2022 Letter of recommendation from the Dean<br \/>\n\u2022 Letter of recommendation from two different Heads of Department<br \/>\n\u2022 Hungarian and English credit transcript from year 1 onwards and statement of the medical student status<br \/>\n\u2022 Curriculum vitae<br \/>\n\u2022 Letter of motivation\/intent<br \/>\n\u2022 TOEFL exam<br \/>\n\u2022 1 Passport size photo<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the TOEFL exam procedure might take several months.
