The meeting brought together researchers and experts to discuss New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), the 3R principles, and ethical approaches to reducing and replacing animal experimentation in biomedical research. Anna presented our work on direct neuronal reprogramming, highlighting how patient- and donor-derived induced neurons can provide human-relevant models for studying brain aging and age-related neurodegenerative diseases. It was a great opportunity to contribute to discussions on innovative, human-based experimental models and the future of more ethical biomedical research.

Anna participated in the National Conference on Ethical Issues in Animal Experimentation, held on October 5–6, 2026, in Zamárdi.
