{"id":1828,"date":"2026-07-15T15:13:38","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T13:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hcemm-neurobiology\/?p=1828"},"modified":"2026-07-15T15:13:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T13:13:38","slug":"isscr-2026-in-montreal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hcemm-neurobiology\/2026\/07\/15\/isscr-2026-in-montreal\/","title":{"rendered":"ISSCR 2026 in Montr\u00e9al"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Karolina recently attended the ISSCR 2026 Annual Meeting in Montr\u00e9al, where she presented our work in the session \u201cAging Models and Age-Related Diseases.\u201d Her talk, <em>\u201cDirectly Reprogrammed Human Neurons and Astrocytes Reveal Cell-Type-Specific Autophagy Dysregulation with Aging,\u201d<\/em> highlighted how direct reprogramming can preserve donor aging features and provide human cellular models for studying brain aging and neurodegeneration. The meeting was also a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with long-standing collaborators, including Roger Barker, Malin Parmar, and Janelle Drouin-Ouellet. Beyond the conference, there was also time to experience Montr\u00e9al: including the historic WNBA game between the Toronto Tempo and Dallas Wings, which attracted 20,996 spectators and set a new regular-season attendance record. It was an inspiring week filled with excellent science, valuable discussions, longstanding collaborations, and memorable experiences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
