His research focused on understanding human brain ageing at the molecular level, combining omics technologies and bioinformatics with human-relevant, cell-type-specific approaches. His work contributed to the development of cell-type-specific transcriptomic ageing clocks, the characterization of molecular dysregulation in Huntington’s disease neurons using phosphoproteomics, and the establishment of a novel cellular platform to study neuronal ageing while preserving donor-specific features.

Reflecting on his PhD journey, Chandra described it as a mountain hike—where not only reaching the summit, but the path itself, is equally important. This perspective captures the essence of scientific training, built on persistence, growth, and discovery. As the first PhD student of Karolina, this milestone is particularly meaningful. Chandra was a guest researcher in our lab, leading the bioinformatics analyses and collaborating closely with our team through multiple visits. It has been a pleasure to witness his development into a thoughtful, skilled, and independent scientist!

We warmly congratulate Chandra on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued success in the next stage of his career.

We are delighted to share that Chandra successfully defended his PhD dissertation on April 24 at Lund University.
