Europe consortium. The activity of the HBTB is in accordance with the ethic and safety rules and the scientific requirements of the consortium.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The tissue samples are made available free of charge to qualified researchers or research laboratories world-wide after signing a statement about scientific collaborations with the HBTB (<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2021\/11\/HBTB_Form1_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">declaration 1<\/a>) and a declaration of the proper use of human samples strictly for research studies (<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2021\/11\/HBTB_Form2_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">declaration 2<\/a>). The tissue samples will be studied in the course of an approved research project and will not be provided to anybody else.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The fate of the microdissected samples, including the complete utilization should be reported to the HBTB (<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2021\/11\/HBTB_Form3_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">declaration 3<\/a>). If the samples are not used completely, the remaining portions should be buried. If the burial of the samples would be unaccomplished, they should be resubmitted to the HBTB.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">Database<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Each of the human brain tissue samples is recorded in the database of the HBTB. The scientific partners may receive full information about family, clinical, pathological and neuropathological reports of the departed person, as well as about the technical details of the microdissection procedure and the storage of the samples. The database has been developed to keep the thousands of samples manageable. In order to fully respect personal rights, information about deceased persons is divided into <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">restricted<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u201copen\u201d<\/span> compartments. The restricted compartment contains the personal data of the subjects. The \u201copen\u201d compartment contains information about the health condition of the subject, their family, medical, clinical, pathological and neuropathological reports, the cause and the circumstances of the death, the post mortem delay and the duration of the storage in -70\u00b0C. Information regarding age, gender, post mortem delay, date of death, date of dissection, as well as the cause of death is available for each brain sample.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The 7 parallel sets of the microdissected and macrodissected samples fill up two compartments.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-48633\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database-1024x651.jpg\" alt=\"database\" width=\"640\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database-1024x651.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database-472x300.jpg 472w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2015\/05\/database.jpg 1307w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n<\/div><h2 class=\"tabtitle\">Policy<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabcontent\">\n\n<p align=\"justify\">The tissue samples are made available free of charge to qualified researchers or research laboratories worldwide after signing a statement (<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2021\/11\/HBTB_Form1_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Form No. 1.<\/a>) about scientific collaborations with the HBTB and a declaration (<a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/hbtb\/files\/2021\/11\/HBTB_Form2_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Form No. 2.<\/a>) of the proper use of human samples strictly for research studies.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The dissected human samples are for medical research examinations. The materials must be studied in the course of an approved research project, which has scientific aims and is devoid of any commercial profit for the researches involved and for their respective institutions. The samples will not be provided to anybody else.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The scientific partners may receive full information about family, clinical, pathological and neuropathological reports of the departed person, as well as about the technical details of the microdissection procedure and the storage of the samples.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The use and the fate of the dissected human brain samples should be reported to the HBTB\u00a0after the final step of the research procedure.
