The activity of the HBTB is in accordance with the ethic and safety rules and the scientific requirements of the consortium.<\/p>\n<p>The Human Brain Tissue Bank is unique for two reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Only microdissected brain samples are stored. The microdissections of 260 different brain regions, areas and nuclei are\u00a0performed on slides of frozen brains and the samples are kept on -70\u00b0C. These samples have been improved to be excellent for neurochemistry, neuroendocrinology, as well as for molecular biological, proteomical and genomical studies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Very short post mortem delay.
