Due to the student\u2019s prompt medical assistance and professionalism, the man who had a serious stroke, fortunately survived. I have started the medical examination immediately, and since the injured person\u2019s pulse was strong enough I continued the medical process on the platform. Soon a fireman joined me who also had experience in patient care in emergency situations. He brought the necessary equipment with the help of which we together started to stabilize the patient. The ambulance car arrived right afterwards.\u201d, said Bal\u00e1zs M\u00e1rki.<\/p>\n<p>During the first year at Semmelweis University every medical student participates in a First Aid training, and during their second year studies of internal medicine they have to learn how to examine a patient. According to Bal\u00e1zs M\u00e1rki in this situation every medical student would have been capable of providing basic medical assistance. He also said that he has learnt a great deal during his clinical trainings, including the one at the Centre of Simulation. After finishing his second year studies he worked for the Hungarian National Ambulance Service for six months, thus he was able to help the patient easily.<\/p>\n<p>Bal\u00e1zs M\u00e1rki said that he chose the medical profession because it is colourful and it offers many challenges.
