His Excellency was received by the leaders of the institution; Dr. Thomas Wolfram, newly appointed managing director of the Asklepios Clinics GmbH, Dr. Christoph Jermann, managing director of Asklepios Campus Hamburg and Dr. Karl-J. During the past year the German Scientific Committee also provided a positive feedback regarding the cooperation.\u201d, he said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the project connecting the two countries, Semmelweis University and the German private institution run a joint programme, which is considered to be a unique achievement in Europe. According to the cooperation agreement between Semmelweis University and the Asklepios Clinical Team students participating in Semmelweis University\u2019s German language programme at the Faculty of Medicine have the opportunity to do their clinical practice in Hamburg after having completed the theoretical part of the education.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8584\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/06\/Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/06\/Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/06\/Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/06\/Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K-449x300.jpg 449w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/06\/Besuch_Ung.Botschafter-22-von-43-K.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Currently there are 180 students enrolled in Semmelweis University\u2019s programme at the campus in Hamburg. About 350 doctors, including 50 professors from the seven Asklepios Clinics are involved in education during the students\u2019 four-years-long clinical training. The programme is strictly based on the schedule of Semmelweis University. Graduating students receive a medical degree that is accredited in Hungary and is accepted in Germany and also in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Asklepios Clinics GmbH was launched as a family venture thirty years ago with Hamburg as the seat. Since then it has become one of the three largest private hospital networks in Germany.
