The meeting was attended by Dr. Marcel Pop, Director of International Relations, Sylvette Tourmente, Cooperative Attach\u00e9 of France in Budapest, Szilvia Sz\u00e1nt\u00f3, Scientific and Technological Attach\u00e9 in Paris, Dr. D\u00f3ra Szab\u00f3, Director of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Dr. Csaba Jeney, Assistant Professor.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8319 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/05\/20160418_105829_1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"20160418_105829_1\" width=\"580\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/05\/20160418_105829_1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/05\/20160418_105829_1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2016\/05\/20160418_105829_1-533x300.jpg 533w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe French institution and the Department of Medical Microbiology are currently organising an international forum, titled Pneumococcus Day which is to take place in the Fall of 2016 in Budapest.\u201d, Dr. D\u00f3ra Szab\u00f3 said.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was concluded by an agreement reached by both parties, according to which the institutions would prepare and jointly participate in a Horizon2020 Twining project coordinated by Semmelweis University.<\/p>\n<p>The visit was continued at the Department of Medical Microbiology where the French delegation were presented with the main areas of research. The Department organised a student forum as well, where the presentation of Dr. Monica Sala gave an insight into the application procedure for the various training programmes of Pasteur Institute, including short and long term scholarship programmes available for foreign students.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the programme David Ittier held a speech at the \u201cEU-Eastern Partnership STI Cooperation in Addressing Health Research and Innovation\u201d conference.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation\u2019s visit and the renewal of the cooperation are the direct results of a procedure initiated by the Department of Medical Microbiology in October 2015. Dr. D\u00f3ra Szab\u00f3 and Dr. Csaba Jeney, visited Pasteur Institute in Paris and suggested the establishment of a branch of Pasteur Institute in Hungary within the realm of the Department of Medical Microbiology.
