In her presentation <em>\u201cBiosimilars: first or last?\u201d<\/em> she demonstrated the results of a joint research carried out by the biological centres in Hungary, which examined infliximab efficiency in inflammatory bowel diseases. The research proved that this medication is used effectively and safely in case of inflammatory bowel diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Krisztina Gecse was invited to the IBD MasterClass by its organiser, Professor Simon Travis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHungary was among the first European countries to introduce biosimilar infliximab in the therapy of patients suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases.\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Biosimilars are biological medicines, which start to be offered on the market after the licence of the original reference product expires.
