\"arad2\"<\/a>Following the invitation of the Universitatea de Vest Vasile Goldis (UVVG), Dr. M\u00e1ria Judit Moln\u00e1r, Semmelweis University\u2019s vice-rector for scientific affairs and Dr. Marcel Pop, director of international relations visited the partner university in Arad. The primary goal of the visit was the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding which provides a framework for scientific and academic collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Coralia Adina Cotoraci, rector of UVVG and Dr. Anca Hermenean and Dr. Cristian Haiduc vice-rectors.<\/p>\n

In his interview given to his university\u2019s media department, the Rector of UVVG said that it was an honour for them to receive the delegation of Semmelweis University. SE is the region\u2019s oldest medical teaching institution which is open to collaboration in the biomedical field and it has a large number of foreign students and numerous exciting research areas. \u201cWe sincerely hope that based on the discussions with Dr. M\u00e1ria Judit Moln\u00e1r, we will also be able to launch parts of the research projects at our research centres primarily in the fields of molecular medicine and neuropathology.\u201d \u2013 said Rector Cotoraci.<\/p>\n

\"arad-1JO\"<\/a>Dr. M\u00e1ria Judit Moln\u00e1r, Semmelweis University\u2019s vice-rector recalled that they had met the leadership of the university in Arad. According to her, they have closely followed UVVG\u2019s activity and dynamic development in the past few years. \u201cSemmelweis University is primarily known for its biomedical education which is \u2013 according to us \u2013 an essential point of connection with UVVG\u2019S Faculty of Medicine\u201d \u2013 emphasised Vice-Rector Moln\u00e1r adding that Semmelweis University could establish a strong regional relationship with UVVG not only in the academic field, but also in the area of research. European Union funds \u2013 with special regard to the Horizon 2020 programme \u2013 provide many opportunities for joint projects.<\/p>\n

During the one-day visit the parties identified the various fields of the potential research collaboration and the delegation also visited the UVVG\u2019s research and academic facilities.<\/p>\n
