On June 12, the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs at Semmelweis University held an international alumni reunion at the Embassy of Hungary in London.<\/div>\n

Members of the Hungarian delegation included Dr. \u00c9va Feket\u00e9n\u00e9 Szab\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development; Dr. P\u00e9ter Nyir\u00e1dy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (\u00c1OK); Dr. Andrea Zsebe Mikl\u00f3sn\u00e9 Tenk, Dean of the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty (PAK); Dr. Tam\u00e1s Heged\u00fcs, Head of the Directorate of International Relations and Alumni Affairs; \u00c9va Cz\u00e9km\u00e1n, international expert; and Szabolcs Tiger, consultant and international expert.<\/p>\n

The event began with opening remarks by Dr. Ferenc Kumin, Ambassador of Hungary to the United Kingdom, after which Dr. \u00c9va Feket\u00e9n\u00e9 Szab\u00f3 gave a speech on behalf of Rector Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely. Dr. P\u00e9ter Nyir\u00e1dy also welcomed the participants. His presentation gave the more than eighty guests an insight into the life of the university\u2019s namesake, Ign\u00e1c Semmelweis, as well as into the institution\u2019s history, mission, most significant developments, future goals, and international network.<\/p>\n

In the closing part of the ceremony, Dr. Andrea Zsebe Mikl\u00f3sn\u00e9 Tenk congratulated two outstanding organizations operating in the United Kingdom – Small Steps and The Rainbow Centre – on being awarded the title of \u201cDesignated Institute for Practice,\u201d and then presented them with certificates of recognition in a formal ceremony. In their acceptance speeches, the leaders of the honored institutions recalled their decades-long commitment to conductive education in the United Kingdom and emphasized their intention to further strengthen cooperation with the parent institution in Hungary.<\/p>\n

Following the presentations, the focus for the members of the alumni community shifted to networking, reminiscing about shared memories, and exchanging professional experiences. The closing reception provided an opportunity for informal conversations, during which participants were able to further deepen their professional and personal relationships.<\/p>\n\r\n [slb_exclude]\r\n
