\"RS14684_KA-20140402-IMG_5409-tdk-megnyito-net-scr\"<\/a>Semmelweis University’s students had the opportunity to measure their theoretical and practical knowledge at this year\u2019s TDK Conference. Over 350 presentations were given at the international medical, pharmaceutical and dental conference in Hungarian as well as in English.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe TDK Conference is of paramount importance for our University since those who present today are the future of our institution as well as of our entire country. The scientific potential, which the University is very proud of, starts with the TDK project since there are many who will present for the first time in front of an audience here today.\u201d \u2013 said Rector \u00c1goston Sz\u00e9l in his welcome speech. As a conclusion, he quoted Diderot: \u201cour observation of nature must be diligent, our reflection profound and our experiments exact\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"RS14674_KA-20140402-IMG_5472-tdk-megnyito-net-scr\"<\/a>Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, president of the Scientific Students\u2019 Association\u2019s Council at Semmelweis University emphasised that the University\u2019s international relations further developed which is well reflected by the fact that this year 16 universities were represented at the Conference from 8 countries.<\/p>\n

According to tradition, the TDK\u2019s first presentation was held by one of the recipients of the TDK Excellent Educator award. The presentation of Dr. Zsolt Rad\u00e1k, dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences was titled \u201cWas Darwin right that the fit live longer?\u201d<\/p>\n

\"RS14639_KA-20140402-IMG_5606-tdk-megnyito-net-scr\"Thanks to the recent innovative decision of the Scientific Students\u2019 Association\u2019s Council, for the first time this year students undertook practice oriented contests as well. The Surgical and Dental Practical Competitions were open to individual participants while the J\u00e1nos Kabay Pharmaceutical Practical Competition was available to groups of 3-5 students.<\/p>\n
