The exhibition C80 – Aesthetics of Cancer?<\/em> is on view until May 31 in the first-floor foyer of the Institute of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research. A bilingual publication summarizing the project will be presented at the finissage, on May 31, at 5. p.m.<\/div>\n

Due to its prevalence, cancer affects society as a whole, but it is a subject that is difficult to talk about, dominated by fears and misbeliefs, which professional awareness-raising programs can only address to a limited extent. However, visual art may interpret this group of diseases in a form that can reach a wider audience. This concept was the starting point for a project<\/a> that brought together doctors, patients, psychologists, and artists for five months from September 2023 to explore the topic of malignant cancer in thematic workshops. The discussions aimed to create new artworks that reflect on different aspects of cancer. These artifacts formed the basis of the exhibition C80 \u2013 Aesthetics of Cancer?<\/em> in the first-floor foyer of the Institute of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research.<\/p>\n\r\n [slb_exclude]\r\n

The exhibition features works by six artists (\u00c1d\u00e1m Albert, Emese Bencz\u00far, D\u00e1niel M\u00e1t\u00e9, Barnab\u00e1s Neogr\u00e1dy-Kiss, Dorottya Po\u00f3r, and Zsuzsi Simon). The curators were Dalma Eszter Koll\u00e1r and Krist\u00f3f Kov\u00e1cs (Gergely Sajnos).<\/p>\n

The exhibition with thematic activities can be visited until May 31, 2024 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 3 to 5 p.m. The project website<\/a> also features blog posts about the pre-exhibition workshops.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
