Review-based student satisfaction survey puts Hungary first in global awards with Semmelweis University winning the Quality of Student Life prize.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Semmelweis University in Budapest has been named winner of the Quality of Student Life category in 2023 Global Student Satisfaction Awards, a university satisfaction survey from Studyportals, Unibuddy and the British Council IELTS.<\/p>\n

\n

Out of 126 countries reviewed, in 2023, Hungary is the country with the highest overall levels of student satisfaction, according to the survey.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Held every two years, the Global Student Satisfaction Awards is a survey that recognize universities based on student reviews and feedback. With categories like quality of student life, student-teacher interaction, online classroom experience or student diversity, the awards look at the student aspect of universities and college life. This year 126,000 reviews were submitted from domestic and international students from over 200 different nationalities and collected by Studyportal\u2019s community and partner study associations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Internationally, Hungary scored highest at overall levels of student satisfaction. On a five-point scale, Hungary had an average of 4,39 up from 4,35 in 2021, followed by Germany (4.36) Portugal (4,33) and the US (4,32). This year\u2019s top institution for overall Global Student Satisfaction was the University of Navarra in Spain. While overall global student satisfaction rose to 4.21 from 4.06 in 2021, satisfaction in the UK, Australia and Canada was below the global average.<\/p>\n

Semmelweis University won the Quality of Student Life category, the one that has seen the largest growth (up 6.4%) after online classroom experience (up 7.2%).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Besides Hungary (Quality of Student Life), category winners came from Austria (Student Diversity), the US (Online Classroom Experience, and Student-Teacher Interaction), Sweden (Admissions Process) and Ireland (Career Development).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Semmelweis University is highlighted in several international rankings at regional and global level. In the Times Higher Education, the university is in the 250-300 band, while in category “medicine”, it is in the top 250 higher education institutions according to the QS World University Subject Rankings.<\/p>\n

Shanghai Ranking puts Semmelweis University among the world’s top 150-200 institutions in different subject areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Higher education rankings generally compare universities’ research performance (publications and citations), quality of teaching (e.g. faculty\/student ratio, excellence of teaching staff), reputation and international relations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
