More than one thousand five hundred students received their diplomas at Semmelweis University\u2019s graduation ceremonies at the end of the academic year 2021\/22. The overall mission of the university is to provide its students with world-class professional knowledge as well as moral principles and human values, which will equip them to become not only excellent professionals, but also precious humans willing to sacrifice over the years. Recent graduates have excelled in this area as well, said Rector Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely at the Faculty of Medicine\u2019s graduation ceremony.<\/div>\n

At Semmelweis University\u2019s Faculty of Medicine, 291 Hungarian-speaking, 131 English-speaking and 125 German-speaking students were awarded doctorates at a ceremony held in Papp L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Sports Arena. Following the oath, Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, Rector, and Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Kellermayer, Dean, welcomed the newly graduated students as doctors. Finally, J\u00e1nos Cs\u00e1k, Minister of Culture and Innovation, delivered a speech at the event.<\/p>\n

At the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Pharmacy, 120 students received their diplomas, 93 of them in Hungarian, 20 in English and 7 in German. At the ceremony held in Mad\u00e1ch Theatre, Rector Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, Deputy State Secretary for Higher Education Dr. Bal\u00e1zs Hank\u00f3 and Dean Dr. Istv\u00e1n Antal welcomed the graduates.<\/p>\n

At the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Dentistry (FOK), 129 dental students received their diplomas at Mad\u00e1ch Theatre. 35 summa cum laude, 93 cum laude and 1 rite degrees were awarded, including 31 students in English and 10 in German. Dr. P\u00e9ter Hermann, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and Dr. G\u00e1bor Gerber, Dean of the Faculty, shook hands and conferred the degrees.<\/p>\n

Ninety-one students of the Mental Hygiene specialisation of the Faculty of Public Health (EKK) received their diplomas from Dr. Be\u00e1ta Pethesn\u00e9 D\u00e1vid, Director of the Institute of Mental Health, in the Ceremonial Hall of the Theoretical Block (NET) at Nagyv\u00e1rad Square.<\/p>\n

The Faculty of Public Health\u2019s (EKK) Institute of Mental Health also held a joint graduation ceremony for graduates of five of its courses – Social Work MSc, Lactation Counselling, Integrated Parent-Infant Counselling, Community and Family Mediation and Interactive Life Path Counselling for Older Adults specialized further trainings. Nearly 150 new graduates received their diplomas from Dr. Be\u00e1ta Pethesn\u00e9 D\u00e1vid, Director of the Institute, in the Ceremonial Hall of the Theoretical Block at Nagyv\u00e1rad Square.<\/p>\n

At another ceremony in the Theoretical Block at Nagyv\u00e1rad Square, 79 conductors received their diplomas, six of who graduated with distinction. The event also included the presentation of diplomas to students who have completed cross-border training. At the inauguration and graduation ceremony of the Andr\u00e1s Pet\u0151 Faculty (PAK), Dr. Mikl\u00f3sn\u00e9 Tenk Dr. Andrea Zsebe, Dean of the Faculty and Dr. \u00c9va Feket\u00e9n\u00e9 Szab\u00f3, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development, presented the diplomas and welcomed the graduating students.<\/p>\n

Of the more than 500 students who graduated from Semmelweis University\u2019s Faculty of Health Sciences this year, 387 health professionals, including 20 English language graduates, received their diplomas in person at the ceremonial Senate meeting held in the Congress Centre. Following the oath, the newly graduated candidates were presented with their diplomas by Rector Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely and Dean Dr. Gabriella D\u00f6rnyei.<\/p>\n
