At present, Semmelweis University is second among the TOP 500 universities of Europe in terms of the improvement it had made in a single year.<\/div>\n<p>Semmelweis University has once again advanced in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking and entered the world\u2019s best 300, moving from last year&#8217;s 426th to 149th place of the world&#8217;s top universities. This year, Semmelweis has made significant improvement by being listed among the best 250-300 universities compared to last year&#8217;s 401-500 range.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, Rector pointed out that Semmelweis University is the second among the TOP 500 universities of Europe which have made the most improvement in the past year.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>These facts demonstrate that thanks to the outstanding performance of Semmelweis Citizens, our university is advancing on the right path and in direction to get closer to its ambitious goal<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2013 added rector dr. Merkely.<\/p>\n<p>The university has made improvements across all main indicators, achieving the best performance in \u201cEducation\u201d and has ranked among the 25% of the top universities in the areas \u201cCitations\u201d, \u201cInternational Outlook\u201d and \u201cEducation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>11 Hungarian universities has made it to the list this year, with Semmelweis University taking the lead among Hungarian universities. E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University was ranked in range 601-800, while the University of P\u00e9cs, University of Debrecen and University of Szeged are listed in range 801-1000.<\/p>\n<p>The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge universities using 5 carefully calibrated performance indicators: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
