The Gabriella Szab\u00f3, Danuta Koz\u00e1k, \u00a0Katalin\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 24px\">Kov\u00e1cs<\/span>, Krisztina Fazekas quartet\u2019s victory also marked the first time in twenty years that Hungary has won gold in this event. Katalin Kov\u00e1cs won another medal on Thursday -silver this time- \u00a0with Natasa Douchev-Janics\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 24px\">on 500m<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Just half an hour earlier, Rudolf Dombi (Physical Education and Coaching major, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences) and Roland K\u00f6k\u00e9ny had won the men\u2019s kayak double (K2) 1000m, earning Hungary\u2019s 20th canoe\/kayak gold medal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2730\" title=\"kokeny-dombi_200px\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2012\/08\/kokeny-dombi_200px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"136\" \/>Aside from Kov\u00e1cs and Dombi, two other Semmelweis University students have earned medals at the 2012 Olympic Games thus far. \u00c9va Csernoviczki (Physical Education and Coaching major, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences) won Hungary\u2019s first medal at the London Olympics, bringing home bronze in the women\u2019s 48kg judo. Mikl\u00f3s Ungv\u00e1ri (Sport Coaching Master major, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences), another of the University\u2019s judo athletes, became a silver medallist in the men\u2019s 66kg event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">More than 30 of the 157 Hungarian athletes competing in London are from Semmelweis University.
