{"id":26276,"date":"2021-06-08T15:19:15","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T13:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/?p=26276"},"modified":"2022-10-19T10:45:45","modified_gmt":"2022-10-19T08:45:45","slug":"summer-school-about-the-ethics-of-artificial-intelligence-in-biomedicine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/2021\/06\/summer-school-about-the-ethics-of-artificial-intelligence-in-biomedicine\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer School on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span lang=\"en-US\">The Dataethics program of the Eurolife network is announcing <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">an online <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">summer <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">school<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> for undergraduate or PhD students from 12 to 16 July 2021 entitled <\/span><em><span lang=\"en-US\">Big Data, Big Implications: The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"en-US\">.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201c<span lang=\"en-US\">With the development of health technology, a wealth of biomedical data, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">so-<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">called big data, is being created including various genomic and genetic information, but also data from imaging procedures. Creating them is no longer a challenge today, but their safe storage, ethical handling, interpretation and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">proper application of artificial intelligence are <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">so\u201d, explained Dr. Csaba B\u00f6d\u00f6r, senior research fellow at the 1<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">st<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Department of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research, member of Eurolife university alliances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Semmelweis University has been the member of Eurolife since 2017, which recently formed a new consortium to develop ethical and conceptual aspects of the handling and use of big data, and to update and develop related policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Dataethics has set four basic goals for the ethical use of big data: sharing best practices; the development of widely available online materials; creating storage space for <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">continuous collection of materials; and the development of ethical models for biomedical, healthcare institutions and industry actors dealing with big data.
