Participants were drawn from ten universities across three continents, including McGill University in Canada, Peoples\u2019 Friendship University of Russia and University of Medicine and Pharmacy T\u00eergu Mure\u015f in Romania.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2523\" title=\"Semmelweis International Students' Conference\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2012\/02\/td-2_300px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" \/>Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation and International Affairs Mikl\u00f3s Kellermayer greeted participants with a quote from Albert Szent-Gy\u00f6rgyi: &#8220;&#8216;To see what everyone else sees, yet to think what no one else has thought.&#8217; This is an important message for all of us: this is an ars poetica to becoming a scientist,\u201d Vice-Rector Kellermayer remarked, adding that the young researchers present have \u201cstepped onto an important avenue to becoming scientists themselves, or to at least being in touch with what scientific research is about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, president of the TDK Council drew attention to the fact that the Conference was made possible through the financial support of the European Union\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/news\/2156\/over-1-5-million-euros-in-support-of-talent\/\">Magister programme<\/a>, which aims to support young people in entering the scientific field.
