Organised on the last Saturday in January each year, the event is attended by Scots living or working in Hungary to celebrate the birthday of the great poet Robert Burns in a traditional Scottish environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2487\" title=\"Burns Supper 2012\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2012\/02\/Burns_036_2012_01_28_350px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2012\/02\/Burns_036_2012_01_28_350px.jpg 350w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2012\/02\/Burns_036_2012_01_28_350px-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/>The atmospheric event provided an excellent opportunity for the Foundation to report on the previous year\u2019s charitable activities. As in previous years, the support of Hungarian children\u2019s hospitals and infant and paediatric departments featured foremost among the Foundation&#8217;s goals for 2011. As part of this initiative, the Foundation contributed 7.5 million Forints towards the renovation of the Gastroenterology and Cardiology departments of the University\u2019s 2nd Department of Paediatrics, as well as the creation of mother-baby rooms.
