As in the previous waves of the epidemic last year, some departments are temporarily operating in a new location at Semmelweis University in the framework of the preparation for coronavirus patient care. The outpatient care of the Department of Orthopedics will be transferred to the Szent R\u00f3kus Clinical Block, the inpatient care of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery will be relocated at the 1st Department of Surgery and Interventional Gastroenterology and the university’s Departments of Internal Medicine will be jointly organize the care of territorially competent patients, separating COVID patient care from the so-called green zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The temporary relocation of organizational units also took place during the first and second waves of the pandemic, which is a natural part of the conscious preparation for the escalation of the epidemic situation <\/span>in the case of both<\/span> domestic and foreign institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outpatient care at the <\/span>Department of Orthopedics of<\/span> Semmelweis University will move to the S<\/span>zent R\u00f3kus<\/span> Clinical Block, and the move will be completed in the <\/span>up<\/span>coming days. <\/span>Patients who have an appointment for this week and <\/span>thus <\/span>are affected will be notified by the Department of Orthopedics, but if those concerned do not receive such notification, patients may also inquire through the central dispatcher number on 06-1-209-3355 on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The relocation does not endanger the security of care, and the care of <\/span>tumour <\/span>patients belonging to the <\/span>Department of<\/span> Orthopedic<\/span>s<\/span> is also ongoing, with urgent adult and pediatric orthopedic surgeries being performed. The inpatient care of the <\/span>department<\/span> is still operating at the 1<\/span>st<\/span> Department of <\/span>Surgery and <\/span>Interventional <\/span>Gastroenterology, where <\/span>it<\/span> previously moved due to the epidemic situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>o<\/span>utpatient <\/span>care<\/span> of the <\/span>Department of <\/span>Oto<\/span>rhino<\/span>laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery will continue to be available on the ground floor of the <\/span>department<\/span>. The inpatient care of the <\/span>department<\/span> will move to the 1<\/span>st<\/span> Department<\/span> of Surgery and <\/span>Interventional <\/span>Gastroenterology.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The two Departments of Internal Medicine of the university now jointly fulfill their territorial inpatient care obligation. Patients with suspected coronavirus infection or COVID-19 are treated in the Outer Clinical Block, while in the Inner Clinical Block those patients are treated who are not affected by the infection. As part of this, the first thirty affected people have been relocated and patient admission is now organized accordingly.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Semmelweis University, patient care is ongoing as directed by the Minister for Human Resources.<\/span><\/p>\n
