Its <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">primary <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">aim is to provide support for university employees in case <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">of<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> life management difficulties, as well as problems related to stress and burnout.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-24361\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2021\/02\/RS8307_wwwattekovacscom_109148-scr-400x267-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2021\/02\/RS8307_wwwattekovacscom_109148-scr-400x267-1.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2021\/02\/RS8307_wwwattekovacscom_109148-scr-400x267-1-203x135.jpeg 203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>The counseling service provides psychological assistance to university staff and provides support\u00a0 to effectively deal with everyday challenges. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">University staff members may turn to the counseling service <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> not only with <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">psychological <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">problem<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> that <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">are <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">related to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">work<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> performance, but with other issues making work <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">difficult.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Such problems are <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">for example<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">: the difficulties of handling stress and anxiety; relationship problems; time management issues; difficulties with family members; problems related to grief or sickness ; search for a professional identity; uncertainty and difficulties in decision-making. The Employee Conseling Service also provides help to cope with the emotional consequences of increased workload related to the COVID-19 epidemic and to handle associated stress. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201c<span lang=\"en-US\">The existence of the coun<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">seling<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> service and the actual need are also shown by the fact that there are colleagues working within the university who <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">also <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">visit our Psychosomatic <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Outpatient Department,<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> which is open to anyone. They ask for psychological help, there <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">are no<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> mental disorders in their case, so there is no need for psychotherapy and psychiatrist intervention, but they have already developed depressing, stress-related <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">blocks that <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">need to be <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">dealt with. The basic idea of the Employee Advisory Service was formulated along these experiences\u201d, highlighted Dr. Gy\u00f6rgy Purebl, Head of the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Institute of Behavioural Sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">According to the experiences of Dr. Gy\u00f6rgy Purebl, there are basically two factors that make people turn to a specialist. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">One is when the situation starts to become unbearable and there comes a \u201clast straw\u201d. In the other case, they are convinced by the good experiences of a friend or colleague in counseling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\">According to Dr. Adrienne Kegye, <span lang=\"en-US\">the purpose of counseling is to enable those who turn to them to look at their own problems, to deal with their own situation, thoughts, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">emotions<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and to have a <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">sort<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> of change <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">of their <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">attitude.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Besides individual consultations, the Employee Counseling Service provides group psychology services as well, such as stress handling group services, group services for the prevention of burnout, Mindfulness groups <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and groups for case discussion.
