This year, <\/b><\/span>twenty-four students <\/b><\/span>had the opportunity to present <\/b><\/span>their research in an online <\/b><\/span>presentation<\/b><\/span> at the Scientific Student Conference <\/b><\/span>(TDK) of Semmelweis University\u2019s Faculty of Health Sciences<\/b><\/span>. In her greeting <\/b><\/span>speech<\/b><\/span>, <\/b><\/span>Dr<\/b><\/span>. Gabriella D\u00f6rnyei <\/b><\/span>Bedn\u00e1rik<\/b><\/span>, <\/b><\/span>D<\/b><\/span>ean of the <\/b><\/span>F<\/b><\/span>aculty, emphasized that the epidemic had only changed the form of the event; <\/b><\/span>t<\/b><\/span>he quality and <\/b><\/span>diversity <\/b><\/span>of the <\/b><\/span>submitted works <\/b><\/span>had not been <\/b><\/span>affected.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the beginning of the event, <\/span>D<\/span>r. Gabriella D\u00f6rnyei <\/span>Bedn\u00e1rik,<\/span> Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, greeted the participants of the 43<\/span>rd <\/span><\/sup>Scientific Student<\/span> <\/b>Conference <\/span>(TDK)<\/span> held in the history of the faculty. <\/span>T<\/span>his year, <\/span>t<\/span>he <\/span>presentations<\/span> conducted by<\/span> students receptive to research <\/span>are<\/span> special in several ways: the event is <\/span>connected to<\/span> a series of programs <\/span>organized on the occasion of t<\/span>he 250<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> anniversary of Semmelweis University. <\/span>In addition to this,<\/span> the conference was <\/span>organized <\/span>online due to the COVID-19 epidemic.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span><\/span>his year, 24 students <\/span><\/span>had the opportunity <\/span><\/span>to present their research <\/span><\/span>via online presentations. <\/span><\/span>The dean highlighted that students were also involved in epidemic-related research, and the Faculty of Health Sciences continues to give high priority to all such activities. The aim is to achieve that students graduated at the faculty may provide the highest possible level of performance not only in practice but also in theoretical areas. The Doctoral School of Health Sciences, which was established last year, provides further opportunities for this.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe professional content is extensive as usual, only the form has changed this year, as the students present their presentations virtually and the results are also announced online\u201d, said Dr. Gabriella D\u00f6rnyei Bedn\u00e1rik.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

However, the awards will be received by the winners in person, who will also be invited to the 35th<\/sup> National Scientific Student Conference.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Kl\u00e1ra Gad\u00f3, <\/span><\/span>Vice-<\/span><\/span>Dean <\/span><\/span>for General Affairs<\/span><\/span> of the Faculty of Health Sciences <\/span><\/span>at<\/span><\/span> Semmelweis University, Chair of the Jury, presented the practical side of TDK. The <\/span><\/span>presenters<\/span><\/span> did not <\/span><\/span>speak live during the event: <\/span><\/span>a pre-recorded <\/span><\/span>material was<\/span><\/span> submitted <\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span>could be <\/span><\/span>viewed<\/span><\/span> by the participants <\/span><\/span>of the conference<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span>This also ensured that the speakers did not exceed the ten-minute time frame available <\/span><\/span>for <\/span><\/span>them. There w<\/span><\/span>ere<\/span><\/span> five minutes <\/span><\/span>available for <\/span><\/span>discussion time to ask and answer questions.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
